“like this location and the Water Tower store.”
“Nice food court at the State Street store.”
“The variety is outstanding.”
“This Marshall Field's has the best service comparing to other stores I went to, especially bridal salon.”
“work for Macy's and can honestly agree and say that Macy's employees are not only rude to customers, but to co-workers.”
“s. While I understand that I certainly did not buy the most expensive dress that Macy?”

State St icon that's my go-to for shoes, makeup, clothes-even food (upstairs food court is a gold mine!). Christmastime displays magical.
Love the Macy's (Formerly Marshall Field's) on State St!!. I always get service without a shadow at this Macy's/MF's. Nice people who are very helpful. I love shopping here.
From a miracle on 34th Street to malls in the 'burbs, this is middle-class America's own department store..
The Scene
Occupying the building that housed the original Marshall Field's, this nationwide department store aims to continue to draw tourists and locals. While the Field's awnings have been replaced with Macy's, many of the store's popular features remain: The Walnut Room is still in operation and will house the great tree during the holidays; the holiday windows will still be decorated in keeping with tradition; the signature clock tower remains a fixture; and Frango Mints are still available at the store.
The goods
Macy's is every shopper's department store, located along the retail spectrum between Sears and Nordstrom. Crowded displays boast second-tier labels: Lauren and Polo by Ralph Lauren, Reaction by Kenneth Cole, Allen by ABS. The shoe department features upscale selections: Via Spiga, DKNY and Martinez Valero for the ladies and Cole Haan, Skechers and basic Bass loafers for the fellas. Otherwise, rely on staples: Wamsutta sheets, Royal Velvet towels, Clinique cosmetics and Carter's for kids.
The Bridal Salon service is AWFUL!.
Save yourself the agony and purchase your wedding gown somewhere else. I've been trying to schedule my fitting appointment for almost three weeks and keep getting my call re-directed(between the receptionist and the bridal consultant). Today, I was told by the receptionist I needed to make an appointment with Alterations and not the bridal consultant, so I called about 6 times and got no answer...I left a message and never got a call back. I called again, and the person in Alterations refused to make an appointment for me because my wedding is 3 1/2 months away...she said it was too early! All I want is to try on my dress to make sure it's the right size, because if it's not, it takes them 4-6 months to re-order!
Given Marshall Field's reputation, you would expect great customer service, wouldn't you? Unfortunately, that is not the case. I am ready to pick up my gown and take it somewhere else for alterations. Their service is just plain awful.
Great Store!. Great store! Lots of selection from lower-class brands such as Izod to Ralph Lauren to Burberry and Hugo Boss. GREAT Clearance racks if you can find them. Even though it may say 50% off items in that rack, there is probably 80% off items. I got a $100 Ralph Lauren Sport Shirt for $4.08!!!
State St. Flagship Store is an Event.... Field's flagship store is so big a full day isn't enough to shop all of it. It's the largest dept. store in the world with selection and quality to match, and the environment is exciting. More high-end brands, with the inventory, than can be found in hundreds of specialty shops. They really do have what you want here; just have some idea what it is in advance, because there's so much to choose from. Sales assistance ranges from excellent to poor. Multpile in-store restuarants are disappointing. Overall, worth the extra time for all the unique merchandise to choose from.
The best store I ever been. This Marshall Field's has the best service comparing to other stores I went to, especially bridal salon. I needed my gown in two weeks, they made it for me in one and half week. Their consultant are very nice and considerate toward brids. Some other stores I went to, they either need to make appointment long time ago, or they need to charge 25% more for making dress in 2 weeks. Even one store laughed at my friend who was bride few years ago was too fat to fit the dress! For their excellent service, I think the price I paid was totally worth it!
The Best store -Period. An Architectural Masterpiece-irreplaceable-beautifully restored and maintained by Target Corp.--as NO OTHER company would do. This store CAN NOT be missed---if a visitor --take a cab from Michigan Ave.--Also-A grand department store of UNEQUALED selection, quality, and service.
They sent me stuff I forgot!. I bought several boxes of chocolate from Marshall Fields, only to find out I had left three of them at the store when I came home. I called them, and they had already arranged to send them to me!!!
Great store. I love Marshall Fields. When we go to downtown Chicago we always go there. They got all the name brand stuff you could think of!!
No Longer Exclusively Field's. Field's no longer carries extended sizes outside of the Field gear line. Field gear is ok but I can see myself shopping at Neiman's, Saks or Nordstroms' in the not to distant future.
