In Short
Open since '79, this timeless restaurant and coffee shop dishes up New Orleans fare. The walls are a shrine to hot sauce, showcasing the likes of Last Rites, Vampfire, and Dave's Insanity Sauce. Amid clanging dishes and New Orleans jazz, the kitchen dishes up split-pea soup, collard greens, sweet cornbread and imported-from-New-Orleans andouille and boudin. There's also Cajun fried-oyster salad, and the grilled chicken po' boy slathered with olive salad.

This is one of the best places to get Louisiana style food in Chicago! The Gumbo here is amazing! It is so full of flavor and the shrimps here are huge! You definitely get your moneys worth here! The ambiance is also very entertaining and makes you feel like you are actually in Louisiana!

I love the Wabash location of the great cajun and creole restaurant that started out near the loop. I strongly recommend the po' boy sandwiches that have either oyster or soft-shell crab. delicious!

At first, cajun did not sound special, but since this place was recommended by a local person, we went. Good decision! All the hot sauce bottles on the walls and about thirty of them on each table created very unique characteristics. The food was great, very comforting and satisfying. Too bad we don't live closer.
