In Short – One of three Italian Village restaurants under a single 75-year-old roof, La Cantina is located on the basement level. The room exudes a cozy, wine cellar feel, with booth seating divided by a colorful saltwater aquarium. The seafood-centric menu includes popular linguine con vongole with red or white clam sauce and scampi casalinga, a melange of Gulf shrimp, shallots and mushrooms in sherry sauce. Other dishes worth trying: eggplant Parmesan, veal marsala and chicken Vesuvio.
Fantastic Steaks and Wine list

I recently had a business lunch and my client suggested La Cantina. Definitely a different atmosphere, than most steakhouses I've been to, feel of being in a wine cellar with fish tanks everywhere. I have to say I was very impressed. We were on a tight schedule, and had reservations for 12:00 on a Friday. We were seated almost immediately and greeted by our server right away. We ordered salads and two steaks medium well, and were out the door within an hour. When on a tight schedule prompt food service is very important. Next time I come back I will spend more time, as the wine list is incredible and I 'd like to try some of the wines as well as other food items on the menu.

I love this place!!

This restaurant is a great place to go for lunch or dinner. It is in the lower level of the Italian Village, but should not be missed. The Veal parmigian is outstanding and I've also had the New York strip steak on several occasions. It always comes out the way I ask and is very tender, almost melts in my mouth. The wine list is amazing!! I can always find a good red or white wine depending what I'm having. They have a much more extensive seafood menu here, than the other two restaurants. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Last night we went to dinner at La Cantina, the service was outstanding. I have been to several steakhouses in the city and this places among the best. We were seated immediately and our server came to our table within minutes. He was very friendly and knowledgable and suggested an excellent merlot to go with the steaks we ordered. They came out cooked perfectly and melted in our mouths. The gorgonzola cream sauce on the strip steak was fantastic!! The food came out fast and was very reasonably priced. I will definitely be coming back here.
