Why styrofoam?.
This 'greens n things' eatery isn't very green. Why are they still using styrofoam? Why not a reusable container, recylceable plastic, or compostable/biodegradable plastic. Come on...get with the times...it's 2008 already. Go green.
The food is ok.
NOT HERE ANYMORE!!. This place has been replaced by a hot dog place. We looked for Mac Kelly's and at this very address, there was an American Dog joint. Very disappointed.
Tons of options. I've only had the salad bar, but it is really good. The choices really are fresh like they were just put out. The fruit options are really good too. They charge by the pound so don't overload your salad with stuff you don't need.
For lunch on the go, Loop workers head to this soup/salad/make-your-own-sandwich franchise..
In Short
Grab a Styrofoam container and head to the salad bar, which offers 80 items, regularly replenished, even after the lunch rush. Options include sliced salami, marinated mushrooms, jalapeno peppers, prunes and sunflower seeds. Of the dozen salad dressings, four are fat-free or low-fat, including a French basil vinaigrette. The adjoining hot bar features entrees like turkey tetrazzini and lasagna, and a fruit bar offers kiwi, grapes, melon and more.
Stick with the greens.... Stick with the salads, sandwiches or cornbread muffins ONLY unless you long for the days of grade school cafeteria food. Do not let the affordable prices fool you, strange combinations of ingredients make for unappetizing lunch selections such as Chicken Parmesan with honey mustard dressing and a not-so-delightful rendition of Grandmas Homemade meatloaf.
Great selection. Although the selection for the fruit, salad, soup, and bakery are excellent. It is some what pricey!
