“As an out-of-town visitor, this location was recommended to us and we were not disappointed.”
“One small problem, it was really crowded (but it was lunchtime on Saturday) and we had to order our pizza to go and eat in the bar.”
“lived in the suburbs of Chicago for 20 years and I've had some great pizza.”
“Why sure, they know the people will get alot of good food.”
“service was slow, wait staff very very rude, and management very incompetent.”
The best Deep Dish--however, the service is horrid.
I was a fellow Chicagoan up until 2007, then i moved to Denver. The one thing the Mile-High City is lacking is true, authentic, Chicago pizza.
I was in town on 10-10 to visit with family, and friends. I chose Gio's over plenty other worthy Chi-town pizza joint's, and i got to tell you i was let down big-time!!!
I don't know if it is this particular location, but they flat-out suck. They don't except reservations, which should tell you right there to walk away, but i was in the mood, and i knew it would be years before i might get this opportunity again.
Got there at 500 pm on a Saturday, and got seated at 730pm!! This is beyond ridiculous. Several times during the wait i kept asking when i would be seated, and they flat-out just didn't give a crap how long you are waiting, rude doesn't even begin to cover how they treat you.
When i finally got seated, amazingly, the food got there quicker than i thought. The pizza was great, as expected, but the wait-in-line, and customer service was just horrible. I will never go again.
Best True Chicago Pizza. Giordano's has the best deep dish cheese, sausage and peporoni in Chicago. I don't know what's in their recipe, but their cheeses have a yummy tate. I always get a deep dish with a side of fried calamari from this restaurant. I've never experienced anything but prompt service and hopsitality at this location. The only problem is parking can be a wee bit difficult. Other than that, this is the best of the best for Chicago Pizza!
Local favorite serves up stuffed and thin-crust pizzas as well as a variety of Italian favorites..
In Short
Red-and-white tablecloths, family-sized tables and friendly staff contribute to the convivial atmosphere for those dining in, but this popular local restaurant chain is a favorite for takeout, too. Thin-crust pizzas are cut in squares, heavy on mozzarella, easy on sauce. Stuffed pies are flaky-crusted with ingredients that include fresh pineapple, shrimp and classic pepperoni, onion, green pepper and the like. Other popular plates include sandwiches (Italian beef, sausage, meatball), salads and a plethora of pasta dishes.
lots of food. Great experience. I have been to alot of them. The clever idea of putting the olive oil on the table to just soak up that great crust. I am not a pizza fan , but always go for theirs. I love it. The people have always been upbeat and friendly. Why sure, they know the people will get alot of good food. We brought some pizza home but it was hard to leave . We dont go often because of the calories however, when we go we go.......... big
One of the best pizza joints in the Chicagoland. I lived in the suburbs of Chicago for 20 years and I've had some great pizza. Giordano's has one of the best pan pizza's around. For those of you who are unfamiliar with pan pizzas, let's just say the make New York style pizza look like crackers with a little sauce and cheese and tons of grease. If you can, call in your order before you leave since making a great pizza takes more time, this isn't Sbarro's you know. You'll never find a better pizza on the east coast and certainly not on the west coast.
Awesome Pizza. Though Gino's is supposed to be the original and best, I find Giordano's to be better. While leaving room for personal taste, I would say that Giardano's is less "saucy" and therefore more dense and delicious.
just plain bad. Worst dining experience ever! We went with friends from out of town. we were the ONLY customers in the bldg. and 80 min. later we still had no pizza. service was slow, wait staff very very rude, and management very incompetent. I've never had a worse dining experience. We never did get the pizza and when we asked to for the check so we could pay for our beverages, they had the nerve to ask us to pay for a pizza we never got!
Amazing!. I was visiting from Houston and wanted to experience some authentic Chicago pizza. This was recommended by a native of Chicago and I think it's the best pizza I've ever had! One small problem, it was really crowded (but it was lunchtime on Saturday) and we had to order our pizza to go and eat in the bar. It was well worth it though!
Excellent!!. If you are looking for a true Chicago-style pizza, this is the place! As an out-of-town visitor, this location was recommended to us and we were not disappointed.
