In Short – Patrons at this bar and restaurant grab stools at the bar or step into the rear to sit at booths and tables to watch the game on TV. The pub grub menu features burgers in four sizes, from quarter-pound up to a full one-pound monster, with the half-pound Greek version with feta cheese topping the list. Other options include grilled-to-order steaks and chops; thin- or pan-style pizza is another popular choice.
Great deep-dish!

Arguably the best dish-dish I've ever had in my life. A 10-inch deep dish is more than enough for two people, especially with an appetizer. My favorite appetizer is the goat cheese and marinara with garlic bread. Good service and prompt seating, but don't order pizza if you are in a hurry. It's fresh and the server will warn you that it takes about 30 minutes to be cooked. There are always people there, the kind of volume that assures you people love this place. It has the atmosphere of an authentic Chicago pub. And if you were wondering, you pronounce the name "ex-check-er."
Best of United States

I went o Chicago from Minnesota for the Graph Expo 2007, and that restaurant was conviniently close to my hotel. First day: Chicago Style Pizza (1 pizza small to share and is a lot), and like 4 beers $19.
Second day, I went there again: Sampler appetaizer platter (to share) and 6 beers $24. That day I was able to see in one TV the friendly soccer game between Mexico and Brazil, in Mexico, while they were playing the Chicago Bears in the rest of the restaurant. I was able to talk to the owner of the restaurant, he is the most amazing person in the World. Super friendly.

Good pub for the Downtown campus students

I first set foot into this pub after our professor invited us to celebrate the end of the Winter quarter. Ever since, I come in whenever I feel like having a quick drink before heading on home for the night. the place itself is decored in displays of the Chicago Bulls and White Sox's Championship memrobelia that cover the walls of the bar area and old historic newspaper front pages all around the restaurant. It's almost a museum telling the history of Chicago while you eat. Ok, maybe I'm so clear on the decor. The bar area is small and cramped located at the front of the restaurant while the dining area is wide open spanning 2 rooms. The bar itself is well stocked, but lacks in some well know liquors. The there are several beer drafts to choose from ranging from St. Pauli Girl to Bodington and even their own house beer. They have good deals on pitchers as well. But what makes up for the tight squeeze in the bar area is the food. They have daily specials ranging from fish & chips to Mediterranean style ribs. Not only that, but they have great barbeque ribs, big burgers cooked the way you want, appitizers that will fill you up, and good pizza. The only odd thing, you must pay twice if you sit at the bar (one tab for drinks, the other for food). Who knows why. It's worth the stop after a long day at work or class. Come for the food and drinks, stay and read about the history of Chicago all over the walls.
- Pros: Good food, Off the Adams and Wabash "EL" station, accross from DePaul Downtown campus, good for group dining
- Cons: Parking, small bar area, 2 tabs for sitting at the bar, daily specials rarely change
