Like going to an exquisite art gallery but not being pressured to buy anything..
The Museum
The entrance is on the main floor of Columbia College's main South Loop building, and entering is like crossing into another dimension. Most museums are quiet, but this one is so devoid of noise, you feel as if you should remove your shoes at the door. There are three levels, the first of which is the largest, but none of them is terribly large. This is a museum you should be able to absorb comfortably in no more than half an hour. The only slightly disconcerting breaks in the minimalist decor are the doorways in the museum walls that open directly into busy offices.
The Collection
The MCOP is primarily used to exhibit touring photography exhibits. There is no permanent collection visible to the public. It can only be seen by appointment.
