Deceptive Information but Courteous Service

I opened a student account here in October. I was actually here at this bank to apply for a student loan. They convinced me to open an account here with the offer of $50.00 to be deposited into my account. After about three months of opening this account, I got a letter saying that I am not eligible to receive this $50.00. I consider this deceptive practice. Before I started the account they should have checked to see if I was eligible. I will be closing my account soon.
