still flash - no substance. Apparently, your new found admiration for Nine after it's opening is unwarrented. I don't know who you sent to retaste the food, but it is wholely overrated. The blini was bland and swimming in a pool of oil, it was disgusting. The cones had no flavor what-so-ever. I had the grouper was over cooked and not to mention bland. The food was so bad I refused my friends' invitation to sample theirs. No thanks!!!

Nine on the decline. Recently ate at Nine. It had been one of my favorites because of the food, ambience and attentive service. Unfortunately, the service has really gone down. Our waiter was very slow and needed to be reminded numerous times on various items. In addition, other restaurant employees didn't seem to understand the concept of customer service. The food is still solid, but I won't go back for a while. Hopefully management will straighten out the service problems.

Cool atmosphere and great food. We had an office dinner here and everyone had a terrific time. Splurge on the massive seafood plate as an appetizer and you won't regret it -- everything from a whole lobster to giant king crab legs to oysters and clams and shrimp. Lamb chops for my entree were tender and cooked perfectly. Watch out for the martinis -- they'll knock you for a loop (in a good way).

Nine and more. Nine has held its own for some time and made more than a name for itself. Sexy, yet subtle atmosphere, not to mention wonderful food. If not dining, the bar is always the perfect spot for meeting old friends or making new ones!

Delicious!. What a place! The food, the food, the food, oh and the ambience....the bar upstairs was pretty nice as well. I recommend steak! Best steak I have ever had. A little on the pricy side, but it was worth it.

Slick... but not polished. Yes..this place is slick. One of the most sharpest places I've dined in. Very unfortuneately, the service is not polished and the main menu food is not outstanding. Granted, the service and the entrees were good....slightly better than suburban but for all the hype and price I would not return. Were this place did shine was it's desserts...now that's a true "nine"

excelllent steak every time. In a city that is known for the best steak, Nine Steak House is defineately at the top. The service is always excellent no matter how small or large the group. The Nine's lamb is also an excellent alternative to steaks, and is probably the best chops in the city. It may be called "Nine" , but I give it a perfect 10.

Cool space, great food. Dinner at Nine an event. They serve as good a steak as I've had anywhere in Chicago. The place itself is very very cool. I had heard negative things about the service, but the three times I've been there, the service has always been first rate.
