Skip the rickety elevator, and take the stairs up to the second-floor store entrance. Your efforts are rewarded with a large selection of men's and women's designer threads you'd think were only available on Michigan Avenue. While salespeople are friendly and eager to help, they have to buzz you in--and out--which makes casual browsers feel somewhat inhibited. Given the pricey merchandise and the store's out-of-the-way location, however, the added security isn't surprising.

The Goods
Suits dominate the selection. Designers include Hugo Boss, Gianfranco Ferre, and Dolce & Gabbana. The prices are good, considering the fancy labels, however, $1,000 tags are not unusual. In addition to suits, you'll find cashmere sweaters, casual sportswear and a variety of leather accessories. Look for sales like "three pieces for $1,000" or "three for $500." Sample sales by high-end designers like Brioni can be worthwhile.
