MY VERY FAVORITE RESTAURANT IN THE CITY. I have been eating at Marty's for the past 10 years. I love it dearly. I take everyone I know there and recommend it everytime someone asks for an idea. The waiters are great. The bartenders friendly and Marty is always a warm and wonderful host. I'm actually going there tonight.

Great prices and hearty, home-style Italian food draw an all-ages crowd to this West Loop favorite.. The Scene
It's only a few blocks west of the Randolph Street scene, but you won't find any models at this down-to-earth hangout. Casual businessmen and old-timers light up in the smoky front bar; families and couples head for the cozy side dining room, where ochre walls and lace curtains create a grandma's-house atmosphere. In spring and summer, the broad outdoor patio is the place to be.

The Food
Expect the basics done right--from lasagna and spaghetti to chicken Vesuvio and veal parmigiana. Grilled shrimp and calamari is a can't-miss starter, bathed in olive oil and paprika sauce made for sopping up with bread. Pastas are generous and reliable; tortellini with tomato-cream Romano sauce is a rich, flavorful standout. Chicken Vesuvio is simple and perfectly cooked, while braciola--pounded, rolled filet stuffed with prosciutto and cheese, then heaped with red peppers and doused in tomato sauce--will satisfy the heartiest appetite.

Great food with a neighborhood flair. Mart Anthony's is a homey Italian Restaurant with a dynamic owner who is the driving force behind his repeat business. The food is excellent, service friendly, and the atmosphere comfortable.
