In Short – All windows and exposed ductwork, this cavernous space is adorned with oversized vegetable- and chicken-and-egg-themed paintings. A casual crowd of loft dwellers gather for down-home breakfast fare: Fresh-squeezed orange juice and fruit smoothies; salmon cakes with hollandaise sauce; and the celebrated Red Eggs, a piquant mess of two eggs on corn tortillas with black beans, cheese, ancho chili sauce, sour cream and salsa. Dinner specials include chicken etouffee, stuffed eggplant and simple fish entrees.
The worst!

Wishbone is awful. We always have problems when we come here. The menu is bland and mediocre across the board. The dishes usually come cold and our orders are always mixed up or missing something. I'm writing this after just opening our take out bag and seeing that they messed up two of four entrees and completely forgot to give us our fifth. The only reason we still frequent this dump is because my wife has an illogical emotional attachment to it because it was one of the first places she ate at when she first came to Chicago. I'd rather eat Boston Market when I have a craving for "comfort food." The only comfort about Wishbone is on their end... shoddy service, an unimaginitve menu and bad art. A perfect example of a resturant stretching themselves too thin. This place REALLY is lousy!
- Pros: None
- Cons: Bland cold food, bad service, bad art
Nice, but....
by TrishInChicago
Every time I leave this nice restaurant, I'm disapointed. Today it was for breakfast and I found the 2 egg white omlette with spinach and chesse to be extermely dry and tasteless. The potatoes which came with the dish were also dry, dry, dry. The only item that was normal was the wheat toast. I had to flag down our wait person-- and it wasn't at all busy-- for a check after waiting for more than 15 minutes while my friend and I sat there. She wasn't a nice nor friendly person; she seemed to be frantic. Why? who knows. This should be a lesson to me to stop giving this place another chance-- there are better places.
- Pros: Easy for breakfast, lunch and dinner if in the area
- Cons: Food is below average
Eat your heart out, San Francisco!

We"ve loved this place (on Washington) since it first opened.... breakfast, lunch and dinner are all great. I can't even begin to pick out a favorite dish, but the veggie burgers are so good I eat them even though I'm not a vegetarian; I don't think we've ever had anything that we didn't like a lot. We've moved to San Francisco, but never visit Chicago without heading for the Wishbone. Great service, great crowd, great food.
