Great Hot Dogs and Everything Else Too!. Have eaten at 33 of the Portillos locations and this one is my favorite because of its location downtown. The food, service and ambience (Yes! Ambience) is great at all of them. Started eating the hot dogs but have tried most everything and you can't go wrong with any of the choices.Especially enjoy the hamburger and their tamales!

Known for their Hot Dogs, but their Chop Salad is awesome!. Going to Portillo's is an experience. There is just so much to choose from and everything is great. It's perfect for a quick bite with a lot of people, because everyone will find something they like.

I've been to the one downtown a few times and their drive thru is unbelievably efficient. Very impressive. I've also been to one in the suburbs after golf, which also offers a great experience.

Lastly, a friend of mine has had a few parties with Portillo's catering. Very well done!

2nd best hotdog in chicago. I know hotdogs! I was at the Conney Island hotdog eating contest every year as a child.

This is not the best hot dog in Chicago - The best is Maxwell Street. This is a close second though, and its really good because of consistency. I love this place sooooo much!

The best burger under $4. while known mostly for its dogs and italian beef...don't shy away from a true flame broiled cheesburger. The fries can't be beat

Sensational Salads. This was the first time that we had eaten at this restaurant, and it was a mixed bag of compliments. I had one of their signature salads and absolutely loved it. Everything was fresh, prepared while I watched and extremely tasty. It was on the daily special, so the meal itself was very inexpensive as well. The other members of the party, however, did not enjoy their meals as much. One ordered a steak sandwich with hot peppers and was treated to something with carrots and other unidenfied vegetables on it. The other person in the group ordered a polish sausage, which was overcooked, but otherwise had no faults. The service was fast and friendly and the atmosphere was family friendly. I would recommend :)

Love that Dog.. I love Portillo's hotdogs. Always just right. The best Italian beef sandwiches, better than Al's #1. French fries are the best. Service is fast.

That's a great sandwich!. I have eaten here three times now, with different companions each time: family, coworkers, friends. In each case, we've had a good time here. Yes, it's touristy (and since I don't live in Chicago, I guess I qualify). Yes, it's a chain. But neither of those are necessarily bad. Let's face it, what matters is the food. And the food is pretty darn good. The Italian beef sandwich is awesome. I prefer the Big Beef, with hot peppers. It's a big, juicy sandwich, overstuffed with delicious Italian beef, tender, flavorful, sliced thin and piled high. The gravy (au jus) and giardiniera put it over the top. The french fries are crispy, fresh, and hot. They're crinkle-cut, and delicious. Prices are very reasonable. Overall, an excellent casual spot for delicious food.

Great Location!. I love Portillo's and this one is the absolute best in the city. The food is always cooked to perfection from the burgers to the crispy chicken. And I'm the hugest fry fan so I am really pleased on their fries. This location is a good one to go to when you are a part of a group or large party, or in the Downtown area having a night on the town or a nice lunch. It is reasonable in price, and should feed your taste buds just right.

great italian beef and good prices.. was in Chicago for a short time and was only able to get here once. will defiantly go there if I ever get back to Chicago. the italian beef sandwich was great and pretty big too. especially for the price. cool different atmosphere rite down town. will have to try the chicago dog next time. great place.

Best food of my life!!!. I'm from California and last week I went to visit someone in Chicago and the first time we went to Portillo's I was sold. I was there for one week and made my friend take me back two more times. The fries with a side of cheese, yum. The Italian beef (my first) wet, yuuuuummmmm! So juicy. The hot dogs are absolutely to die for and the chilli cheese dogs are sent from heaven! Looooove the chilli cheese dogs. The burgers are amazing, good buns, good meat, good toppings. The beef and cheddar crossiant is sooooo ridiculously delicious, everyone needs to try it! okay now one more thing, the chocolate cake shake, which is not on the menu but they take a piece of chocolate frosted cake and blend it into a milkshake and you eat it with a spoon, and if you love chocolate, shakes, cake, or sweets in general, it is soooo good. I have never eaten so much at a resturaunt in my life. It is perfect portion sizes, and great prices. LOOOOVE it! I can't wait to go back, I am having Portillo's withdrawls.
