The Scene
At this bar upstairs from Finn McCool's, expect a critical mass of T.G.I.F.-ers at the start of the weekend, and all the sophomoric antics that often implies; other times it's practically relaxed. College sports paraphernalia--photos, pennants, a marching-band drum--adorn the walls and ceiling. Fraternity paddles from days of hazing long past complete the picture, and the dark-stained woodwork and elaborate bar add an upscale accent.
The Bar
The Loft goes out of its way to foster the illusion that it's a down-home neighborhood fixture rather than part of a chain; suspending disbelief can have its rewards: A good variety of brews--domestic and import, macro and micro--await on tap and in bottles. The menu shows more than a flicker of ingenuity, going beyond the usual burgers-with-your-choice-of toppings (of which this spot does have plenty) to also include wraps, grinders and internationally flavored appetizers.

I've actually been here a few times. It's not a very happening place, but great little hangout to drink and hang with friends. Waitress staff was nice and came around often. Dance floor is a bit small.

was talked into going. the lower level is decent. although the upper is crowded and hot/sweaty enough, so make sure you lit before you go up if you want to enjoy yourself. pretty good drink service, everywhere you turn there is someone to get you another.
Pros: inexpensive, good mix of people
Cons: parking
