Tips for Wildfire Chicago

Holy cow!. We've eaten at every steakhouse in Chicago, and none of them can compare to Wildfire in terms of food quality, professionalism and service. Our waitress, Nicole was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the menu and winelist that we couldn't help but feel like we were the only people in the restaurant. Also, it's such a value that we come back as often as we can!

Great food, great service, great value!!. This was our first visit to Wildfire and what a great experience we had. The steaks were fantastic and the service we received was top notch. The NY strip was excellent with the horsradish crust. My wife had the beef medallions with horsradish, parmesan, and mushroom crusts. All we excellent. Appetizer, meals, 4 beers, and the white wine flights (4 sampler glasses of 4 different wines) ran the tab to about $100. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Unmatched Quality!!. The Horseradish Crusted Filet Mignon is by far the best steak I have ever eaten in my life!!! It's huge and worth every penny! I ate every last bite! Dont let the prices scare you - you get what you pay for and Wildfire won't dissapoint! There's also a Wildfire in Oak Brook Mall. Make reservations, you will still wait for your table, but the place is always insanely crowded and no reservations could leave you waiting for hours!

Consistantly Very Good. I've been to Wildfire about 7 times and I have never had a bad meal or experience. There are very few restaurants I could say about. The bone-in filet is one of my favorites, also the swordfish excellant.

Delightful Dinner. A wonderful resturant that I'll visit again often. The swordfish is incredible and the service was impeccable. For the qaulity of the food, it is reasonably priced. I did not have to ask for anything. We were seated right away and treated well until the moment we left the resturant. A wonderful resturant for a date or group of friends.

Way underpriced!. I can't believe that I would say it, but Wildfire was underpriced. For the meal I had, I would gladly have paid much more. Two entree's, one appetizer, and two glasses of wine came to $70.00. The atmosphere was spectacular. Make sure to reserve a booth off the main floor. These dimly lit areas are much more romantic than the busy crowed floor area. I also found the open air kitchen interesting as you can watch the chefs prepare your meal. The only negative thing I could determine is that there was almost a chain restraunt feel. but nothing like I have ever seen before

This casual-classy steakhouse has a woodsy style and friendly, upbeat vibe.. The Scene
With Wildfire's hefty pillars, wood cabin-like walls and stone ovens blazing in the visible kitchen, one can imagine Paul Bunyan striding in, laying down his ax and ordering a steak. A mix of well-heeled suburbanites, tourists and locals looking for a great steak fill the nearly 300-seat restaurant.

The Food

Large portions of meat prepared simply with expertly proportioned elements and well-justified confidence. Wood oven-baked goat cheese is a killer starter, and tender broiled filet mignon is a favorite entree. Mushroom-crusted pork chop--a lean, explosively tasty cut of meat--is a popular alternative. Most entrees come with chunky red-skinned mashed potatoes, generously mixed with cream and butter. Leave room for apple pie, served in a small metal pan with a giant dollop of vanilla ice cream perched atop a piping-hot, crispy crust.
