The Scene – The dark-wood, U-shaped bar in the middle dominates the cozy room; tables decked in white linen and candles fill nearly every remaining inch. Twinkling green lights stripe the low ceiling, creating a warm, cheery vibe. All sorts of people--older, overcoated businessmen, families with children, hand-holding couples and residents of nearby high-rise condos--eat and drink here. The jukebox sends out mellow-volume classics by U2, Nirvana and Fleetwood Mac, while TVs play unobtrusively from the corners. – – The Draw – Dublin's is relaxed yet classy, and…

Editor's Tips

Where to Sit:
Patrons flock to the outdoor seating come summertime.
Know Before You Go:
The above-average food also has an above-average price, but drinks remain average-priced.
Parking:
Loads of cabs zipping by mean you don't have to worry about the street-only parking situation, which isn't pretty.

  2. Good atmosphere and a great place for people watching.
  3. Good food, good people and good atmosphere.
  4. The location is great to either sit outside or by a window and watch the city go by.
  5. The crowd is always a weird show-mostly I think because of the location.

  1. This is my favorite bar in Chicago.
  2. The food is excellent bar food, they even have a few "upscale" choices that won't disappoint.
  3. So all in all, if you want to grab some good bar food, and people watch, check it out but dont bother on delivery if you live in the neighborhood and want something quick and easy.
  4. For a bar, the service is fast and friendly.
  5. bottom line: good food and drinks, poor service, use it as a last resort in the gold coast.
  6. Although this hole-in-the-wall type of bar is nothing fancy to look at, it boasts an awesome menu (which has never failed to please!)
  7. the food is pretty good for bar food, but my main gribe about dublins is that they should decide whether they deliver or not.

  1. Needless to say, I do love this place-and their food for a pub is very good.
  2. So all in all, if you want to grab some good bar food, and people watch, check it out but dont bother on delivery if you live in the neighborhood and want something quick and easy.
  3. Now, if you would like non Irish food served by a rude non Irish staff then this is your place.

  5. the food is pretty good for bar food, but my main gribe about dublins is that they should decide whether they deliver or not.
  6. As one reviewer already mentioned the corned beef and cabbage was incredibly good and inexpensive (of course it is corned beef and cabbage).
  7. The nachos are delicious, as well as their Dublins Salad (which has avocado, cucumber, hearts of palm, artichoke hearts, fresh mozzarella, and chunky tomatos).
  8. Usually when you go to an Irish restaurant you expect two things, friendly staff and good Irish food.
  9. The food is great.
  10. This was the best corn beef and cabbage meal I've ever had - and at $10.00 in downtown Chicago, you can't go wrong!
  11. Good food, good people and good atmosphere.
  12. The food is excellent bar food, they even have a few "upscale" choices that won't disappoint.

the worst staff in chicago!!

by isabella312

there must have been at least 10 people on in this tiny bar. no one does a thing. my date and i sat @ a table and were ignored. when a server rudely informed us the table was only for diners, we told her we were. she then made an audible "ugh" and walked away. ten mins later another man brought out menus. i had to repeatedly go to the bar to get my own drinks, from an old brunnette bar tender who was unfriendly and mean. my dates food came ten mins after mine and his fish and chips were burnt. i'll make sure to tell everyone.

  • Pros: great bar environment
  • Cons: rude, unintelligent staff

Irish, my butt!

by arcook

Usually when you go to an Irish restaurant you expect two things, friendly staff and good Irish food. You will get neither at Dublin?s Pub. Now, if you would like non Irish food served by a rude non Irish staff then this is your place. There was a time when you could sit for hours, eat and drink until your hearts content. Last time?and I mean last time I was at Dublin?s Pub they seated someone else at our table before we finished our meal. No kidding!

  • Pros: I don't need to go back.
  • Cons: You can go someplace else.

Great late night, or just good dinner...

by alisonwndrlnd

I've lived above this joint for two years. I order there on a regular basis, and would not complain about the food. I have never had a problem with a dish there in the two years me and my husband have been going there. I used to go there late night for food before going home, or stopping in for one last drink before heading home. The crowd is always a weird show-mostly I think because of the location. I never bat an eye with anything I see there, because it seems that I've seen just about everything. I must say, that I don't go there friday or saturday nights to drink, but it does get quite crowded. Needless to say, I do love this place-and their food for a pub is very good.

  • Pros: good food, fun atmosphere, weird scene
  • Cons: sometimes overcrowded and loud

NOT GOOD FOOD

by ChefJared

Burger was over cooked, server was short with our table and we were over charged for our dinner. I live less than a block away and there are so many places to eat in chicago I would never go back to this one.
