Decent Italian beef... cash only. The opposite of fancy, this place looks like it's about to go out of business... but no, my friends, In fact I am told by the locals they have the best italian beef in town, and are quite popular! I will say I liked my sandwich, and the hot pepper relish was good- spicy but not too hot. But I wouldnt say it was the best I've ever had. It was good...and worth a visit. You're safer at Al's or frankly most of the mom and pops in the city consideing they all buy the same stuff (e.g. presliced Vienna beef and either Marconi or Il Primo Giardiniera and Turano;s or Gonnella--I mean how different can it be?) Best Italian Beef Sandwich in the US. We're pretty sure, anyway - it was awesome. The shop is tiny and the guys behind the counter are characters. Lose the snobby attitude if you have one - they won't stand for it, and neither will the rest of the patrons. This is the kind of place that people frequent - once you go, you want to go back.
