“want to because I like the name and LOVE the decor but the 2 times I've been here, I've been disillusioned.”
“The food on the prix fixe was good--salmon to start, coq au vin, chocolate cake--nothing spectacular or anything, but then again we were only paying $20 for it.”
“The food was delicious, the wine was a real value for the price, and the ambiance perfect for the afternoon's escape.”
“Cyrano's is our choice when we want a special dinner, in a fairly quiet atmosphere where the food is always good.”
“WE had such great service that knew the menu backwards and forwards and did not rush us out of the table.”
“With so many great French restaurants in the city, Cyrano's is a restaurant to avoid.”
“As were walking out, I overheard the staff telling angry guests that the reason they were not being seated promptly was because they could not control how long people dined, I would have loved to leave earlier, it was their service that was poor therefore”

Massive Disappointment. The evening started with an hour wait for a table, despite our reservations. We were then seated upstairs even though we had requested a cabaret table downstairs to listen to the live jazz. The food was rushed out and dropped on our table, prompting us to ask the server to wait until we finished our appettizers and salads before leaving the soup. He refused, saying the kitchen was backed up and we should take it now. The entree had clearly been sitting under a heating lamp for some time, as the pasta was crusty, the lamb encased in fat and the scallops completely deviod of flavor. Fortunately the glass of wine that I had ordered nearly 25 minutes earlier finally showed up. With so many great French restaurants in the city, Cyrano's is a restaurant to avoid.
Worse Dining Experience. It was our first time visiting and probably our last. We were seated promptly, but our server greeted us after we had been seated for fifteen minutes. We ordered the five couse special and one would imagine they would bring it out in the correct order but our soup was brought out after our entree. When we requested our soup to be brought out, it took at least 30 minutes and the request of several staff. It also took 45 minutes for us to get our water refilled. As were walking out, I overheard the staff telling angry guests that the reason they were not being seated promptly was because they could not control how long people dined, I would have loved to leave earlier, it was their service that was poor therefore they should take fault.
Cyrano's, bon appetit. The moment we walked in, our experience was wonderful. Everyone from the waiter to the hostess and bartender were delightful & accommodating. And every dish was exceptional. I never really heard about this place but I am so thrilled to now know it. That evening, we also watched a young man propose to his newly fiancé (it was an extra treat for us). And we also received a complimentary box of homemade truffles for the birthday girl. I will be returning to a cozy seat in their downstairs caberet again & soon.
Great dining experience. Cyrano's offers a fantastic dining value. The food is thoughtfully prepared, delicious and very reasonably priced. Servers are warm ,friendly and knowledgeable. The chef /owner personally checks on his patrons. The wine list has wonderful wines at good prices. We can always count on excellent food and service time after time or a late night glass of wine and cheese plate. Their duck is incredible we can honestly say we have never had a meal that we did not enjoy. Worlds best butter and creme brulle. We were there for New Years Eve and had a great meal and wonderful time. We enjoy the downstairs lounge and the entertainment.
Favorite Bistro. Charming French atmosphere, great bistro food, delicious frites with 4 different dipping sauces-- including homemade ketchup! I've been to many Bistros in Chicago--this one stands out.
Can you believe.... I went to Cyrano's this past weekend for the first (and last) time. Not only was the roasted pork fatty, but the hostess asked my date and I to move to the bar because she needed the table for a four-top. Considering my bill was near $200, I would have expected to have been treated with better service.
Good Casual French. I went here with a group of couples and had a surprisingly amazing dining expereince. WE had such great service that knew the menu backwards and forwards and did not rush us out of the table. We relaxed, drank and ate all night without feeling like we were getting thrown out the door. The food was terriffic without blowing out the bank. I will defeinately will be returning soon.
