Tips for Sullivan's Steakhouse
Bad stuff.
Recently went after visiting several times. Normally great food(steaks) great service.
Terrible service. Worst steak I have had at quality restaurant.
Infifference from all-free desert that was worse than steak.
Place wasn't even busy at 7:30 on Sat night.
Bad call.
Great Place. I always enjoy my experience here at Sullivan's. Food is great and service is awesome and friendly.
A top-ten pick. The members of the Chicago Steak Club returned to Sullivan's 12/15/05. The place was jammed and for good reason. The service was outstanding as was the steak. I ordered a full sized filet medium rare. It was cooked to perfection. The sides were outstanding. Sullivan's has a friendly wait-staff that was very attentive. Over-all, Sullivan's is a great place for steak.
User review by mem317. Recently I went to Sullivan's for dinner and had impeccable service. We were greated right when we walked in and even though we wanted to have drinks at the bar before we sat at our table they had no problem holding our table for us. The food was excellent- I highly recommend the cajun seasoned steaks. The waitstaff is very knowledgable of the menu and give wonderful recommendations. I highly recommend this restaurant!
Unbeatable Service.
Hands down best service for a steak house. The steaks were cooked to order and were tasty, but not the best I've had. The Kansas City strip is their specialty, and was pretty good. The appetizers were a bit weak and expensive.
The wait staff scraped up our bread crumbs multiple times and brought us refills when we were only half done with our drinks. They were unobtrusive but very attentive. The manager personally seated us.
Mmmmm. We started going to Sullivan's for special occasions, but it's so good we couldn't limit ourselves to only those times. Waiters fill our glasses after nearly every sip. The steak is divine. I especially love the Duxelle Mignon but all are wonderful. The last time we were there the waitress secretly ordered us a souffle when she found out it was our anniversary. There is a long wait, especially if you don't have reservations. You need to plan for a good two or three hours for the whole experience. -But, this isn't the Outback. It's well worth the wait.
Great Service. I spent a little time reviewing dinner options on this site before choosing Sullivan's. As I was entertaining out of town guests, I wanted to show them a classy, upscale, Chicago style place. I had never been to Sullivan's and I can say that I will make up for missing out to this point by returning often. The food was great but it was the service that will keep me going back. Friendly, unobtrusive with everything provided at just the right time. Highly Recommended!
Good Time.
Stopped in Sullivan's after work after reading about it on this website and had a wonderful time. Listened to beautiful live jazz, sampled the bar menu in a nice atmopshere. The hamburger was excellent.
Will definitely stop in again.
Thanks for the wait.... Unbelievable. (and not in a good way). Now don't get me wrong - the food was great and quick... which led me to wonder..."if the service is quick why was I waiting 2+ hours for my table - which was supposed to be ready in 30 minutes?) Ridiculous. Very unapologetic staff considering the wait time. Looking for some accomodation and none to be found. Overall regardless of the food and drink - would NEVER go back because of this experience.
Great Food, Great Service!. We were visiting Chicago and were recommended to Sullivan's by our hotel. We visited on 9/24, and having worked in fine dining for more than 10 years, I can say that this establishment has it together. We were greeted promptly, and our waiter was terrific from the time we were seated. Michelle was knowledgeable about the menu, wine and other details. It was some of the best service that we have received in months! The food was deliecious, and arrived with plenty of time for us to enjoy each dish. I will be visiting Sullivan's in the again and would recommend it to anyone in the Chicago area!
