“Not a very romantic setting but nice to go to with a group of friends or a party.”
“It's a fun little place to go out, some of the dishes are pretty good, and the desserts are not bad.”
“The service was terrible, they seemed to be annoyed with my request for water and a glass of wine.”
“Great food, if you can get in”
“The croquetas are the best thing on the menu and the oysters are good.”
“When the food came, it was cold and gross, and not to mention the menu has pictures on it, I thought this place would be great, and was not even close to being a place I would return to.”

“We were seated in a basement which was ok and our waitress was nice.”
“Good value and FUN”
“this place was the best place to go if you like to wait over three hours long to get seated, wouldn't mind the wait if the food was good, but it wasn't.”

Top notch tapas. Can't afford to go to spain? Come here, grab a pitcher of sangria & eat your spanish heart out. Everything is good.
Too crowded. I went here with a date and we had to wait for almost an hour to be seated. We try to seat where they sat us but it was too crowded that I kept on bumping my elbow with the person behind me. I would go again but not on a weekend because the appetizers are great but the place was too crowded. The space is too small, they should think of expanding.
Tasty tapas at a very reasonable price!. Love this place and love to bring guests here! The best deal is the paella, but there are too many good dishes to name! You'll end up trying all of them eventually, especially if you go with large groups of friends.
Good but crowded.
The bar area was way too crowded, sangaria tasted too sweet but the food was pretty good overall. The chicks in that place were phenomenal. I'd Give Baba Reeba the nod over this place

Iberico for any occasion!.
My favorite restaurant in chicago!
Amazing food for a steal! The ambiance is great, the Sangria is to die for, the staff recognizes you, and there is always prompt seating due to its size! A must go place if you are anywhere in the area.
As close to Spain as it gets!. I came to this restaurant while vacationing in Chicago based on recommendations from friends who had lived in the city previously. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was probably the most authentic Spanish tapas place I've found thus far in the States. While Philadelphia and New York have some fantastic tapas-style restaurants, they tend to be way too "chic" (not to mention expensive!) compared to the kind of places you'd find in Spain. This place was just like I remember in Spain-- great food, no frills. The jamon & manchego plate was excellent, as were the chicken croquetas and tortilla espanola (almost as good as the one I make!). Sangria was also very good, and a great value to boot. All in all I'd highly recommend this restaurant if you're looking for a truly authentic tapas experience.
Good food, bad bad bad staff!!!!!. I enjoy the food. I love their food. The only thing I don't like is that they serve french fries with some of their meals, I didn't came to a Spaniard restaurant to eat french fries!!! I've been here very frequently since my friend loves this restaurant. Each time that I've been here the wait staff is very poor. I've been here with just two people and it took my boyfriend and I 20 minutes just to get our meals ordered. My waitor was standing around and it was hard to get his attention. The wait staff is the worse that I've ever experienced!!!! Be prepared for bad wait staff and long waits!!!! Mind you this was only 2 people.
not good.
Team Splashi went last night for small plates/tapas adventure to the Spanish restaurant.
Right when you enter this establishment, smoke from the bar will great you, so if you are like us( we don't smoke and don't like that nicotine burning smell around us, specially when we eat) make sure to inhale before entering into this establishment.
We didn't have reservations , and looked like we didn't need one, because we where seated right away.
First thing you notice is loud/loud loud people around you, it looked like everyone was trying to out voice each other. So Team Splashi strongly suggest that you bring your head phones or ear plugs, for loud noise will for sure give you headache.
Service is average, and one example is that our server "Claudia" didn't even know what kind of beer is San Miguel...
Food, oh brother , we don't know what happed last night, but food at this place is average at the best.
So Team Splashi will not recommend this place , unless you are looking for average food with loud patrons and untrained staff.

MAybe the cheapest tapas bar in downtown with the worst waistaff crew. There are too many good places to eat in Chicago to put up with the unbelievably poor service that you will receive at this restaurant. Reservations seem to be an enormous problem for the management of Iberico you can expect them to either lose it or unilaterally cancel it on the day of your reservation (I've now experienced both). The poor service starts at the top and carries down to the wait staff. I don't want to criticize all of the waiters, but our waiter was rude, non english speaker and inattentive, and not helpful in the least. The saving grace is that the wine and food are cheap, maybe withou quality. This restaurant is like an Spanish Old Country Buffet, with a bad attitude staff.
Cafe Iberico.
Ever since visiting Granada, Spain (said to be the birthplace of tapas) in 2004 I'm always on the hunt for a good tapas place. Unfortunately this place is not. I was looking forward to eating this place because I've heard so much about it but it left me disappointed.
We had the clams, chicken skewers, chorizo plate and the octopus. The chicken skewers were good though, with caramelized onions and alioli-- it was a good blend of flavors. The octopus with french fries was okay, it needed a li'l kick to it 'coz it was kind of blah. Chorizo plate was nothing special-- I don't recommend it at all!
I don't think I would come back to this place. I've only visited two other tapas place in the Chicago area and this was the least of my favorites.
Terrible at best!. I have lived here for two years and only heard great things about this 'restaurant' so I was happy to try it. But then sadly dissapointed. The food was awful! I ordered squid and they mixed it with french fries. If I wanted french fries I would have gone to McDonalds. The service was terrible, they seemed to be annoyed with my request for water and a glass of wine. When the food came, it was cold and gross, and not to mention the menu has pictures on it, I thought this place would be great, and was not even close to being a place I would return to. I can't believe that it is considered a great place to eat. It is not worth the wait, horribly tacky ambiance, and just terrible food. It's cheap, and I found out why.
