Editorial Review for Brehon Pub – by Citysearch Staff
The Scene
Predating the area's influx of high-end galleries, restaurants and clubs, this corner bar has a historical vibe. Under the original tin ceilings, a massive dark-wood mirrored bar runs along the left of the dimly lit main room; high-top tables and a jukebox fill the area to the right. Brehon has more than Irish-ness going for it; service is efficient and the ambience welcoming.
The Draw
Bar offerings include a good selection of beers and ales, including nearly a dozen on tap and several more in bottles and cans. There also is a full bar and handful of wines available. A lunch crowd comes for pub standards like steak sandwiches, fish and chips, classic burgers and salads. A cordoned-off patio with a half-dozen or so tables buzzes at post-quitting time when the weather is warm.

Great place. A bunch of us from work met here Friday evening and secured a spot right up front with the window view. Highly recommend the window spot. Friendly server, fun atmosphere, and best of all you had some action around you, but could still chat with your party and hear them as well. Would go again in a minute.

while living in North Chicago, there was no place better to have a good time at an inexpensive price than going to The Brehon Pub. The staff - always friendly, and never let you glass go dry. Whether it was a shot of Absolut and a LaBatt's BLue or Three Wise Men and Bacardi 151, Chad and the gang always made quality dirnks at a fair price.
Pros: Good Atmosphere
Cons: no close parking, Crowded on St Patty's
