Worst Bar in Chicago Award

WORST BAR IN CHICAGO AWARD-Probably visited on the worst day possible, the evening of the St. Patrick's Day parade. Got in line and because I stepped in front of the doorboy before I got stamped, he literally pushed me backwards (I am a 40 yr old female & I was completely sober and non-beligerent) so I couldn't get in. What an A-hole on a power trip. Off to a really bad start. Get inside and instantly smelled urine and stale beer spills everywhere. Mounds of disgusting sludge on the floors everywhere. Then paid a ridiculous $5 for a draft beer. While paying for my beer, I accidentally dropped a $20 on the floor and before I could find it, some weasly little garbage picking employee with a flashlight found it and wouldn't give it back. He literally ran away from me like a little girl. Told one of cocktail waitresses what happened but she barely spoke any english and couldn't help and probably didn't care. Save your money and don't waste your time here. The employees are all idiots.

Do not ask for mixed drinks in this place unless you choose lower shelf booze.I asked for Ketel One Vodka and that is not what I got. I was charged top rate for a drink that should have been half that price. I asked the waitress if Ketel was in my glass and she said yes. Then she went to the bartender and whispered something to his ear. He then looked at me and smiled. I couldn't even finish my drink it was so bad. I went back across the street to Finn Mccools- a much better place. The bartenders there never tried to make cheap attempts to cheat me on the drinks. I will never return to Shenanagan's. Buyers, drinkers, be aware!

Minors welcome - Bouncer extorts $80 to get fake IDs back, but lets them in . . . on 1-22-2009

Two young girls I know went there with fake ids and the bouncer let them in, but extorted $80 from them to get their ids back on Friday 1-22-2009. Nice . . . good way to loose your license.
