I heart PS. I've only had the pleasure of stepping into this fine store twice, but both times were amazing.

A friend of mine had some party cups I just had to get my hands on. Went in to grab them and was out on no time. I put my blinders on when I was there, I could spend my entire paycheck and more here. The gift wrap is what blows me away. I heart giving gifts, and using their wrapping paper is the icing on the cake.

The second time I had a girlfriend in need of some ink and in a bind to make some UBER important menu cards for a wedding. PS was closing and she was no where around to grab the ink herself. The friendly staff at PS had the ink waiting for me as soon as I walked in.

If you find yourself in need of cute thank you cards or the perfect gift wrap, get your butt to Paper Source, you won't be disappointed!

Terrible Customer Service for On line order - they have no idea where their orders are. If you want to order on line from Paper Source be prepared to wait a LONG time and be required to call often to hound them for what the status is. I placed an order 2 weeks before Christmas for a gift - it never arrived and when i called their customer serivce to inquire why this particular item (an embosser with several plates) was not there for 2 weeks....then they couldnt find the order. It was shipped to the Midwest instead of being shipped to New England. They couldnt get Fed Ex to send it back so they had to place the order again. Then they couldn't find THIS order either. Every time i called i got someone else and they didnt know any history - one person promised me a gift card - the next person knew nothing about it....these people are obviously all artists and not business people at all. All they would offer is to refund my money. I told them by the time 6 wks passed that they should have refunded my money AND sent the items but they refused. I will never order from them again........try someplace else is my recommendation.

Great Classes for Creative Types. I love their plain cards here for dropping a quick note. But better is the range of classes and activities they offer. Beginners calligraphy, polaroid photo transfer, and scrapbooking lessons. If you are ever bored, pick up one of the at home projects, like making a drop spine box to store little treasures!

Do it yourself is GREAT. We had a fantastic experience w/the Paper Source! The staff was completely professional and ensured that our wedding invitations, wedding programs, table cards, CD enevelops, and table cards were perfect! Oddly enough, we were preparing for our wedding around the same time as the other reviewee of the store. We had a such a great experience, I was surprised to read the comments. I should note that we did our own invitations (etc.), which was more out of wanting to pay attention to little details ourselves vs. cost. We were afraid about the task at hand, but we ended up having a great time making them... our guests were impressed. It's really not as difficult as it sounds. And we were able to SAVE a TON of money! I highly recommend the Paper Source! I am already working on invitations for another event w/ their help...I love this place!

Horrible Experience. I would not recommend using Paper Source for special event invitations. We used them for our wedding invitations and had a terrible experience. The final product looked good but by then we were so upset we were disappointed. Customer service was very poor - we had to persistently call to find out when to expect our invitations, which were late, even with an exteremly slow promised delivery time. Paper Source was by far the most (only, really) unpleasant part about planning our wedding. I feel responsible for telling others - DO NOT USE PAPER SOURCE for your invitations.

This three-story, do-it-yourself paper store stirs up creativity in even the most uninspired.. In Short
Founded in 1983 by Sue Lindstrom, this Chicago-based connoisseur of all things paper has since expanded to nine states beyond Illinois. Each location is still steeped in the genuine ideal that papermaking, and paper in general, is an art. Therefore, the shops stock an unlimited variety of playful colors--fuse green, confetti yellow--and a complete range of sizes for any project. Sheets of decorative paper are delicate and thin, others tough and full of fiber. Some have traveled from as far as Nepal and Japan, others may have been crafted from 100% recyclable materials at a mill nearby. Either way, you'll find all the materials you need to bind a book, make a photo album or create your own note cards. There's also a lively selection of cards, rubber stamps, calendars, address books, journals, plastic toys, candles, picture frames, ribbon, calligraphy pens and more.

trust me!. Paper Source is one of my favorite destination spots- each of the stores and thier staff is unique- They offer amazing letterpressed stationery and invitations- funky cards and gift wrap- and paper from all around the world! The staff is so well trained in the book arts, and are very eager to help with any project- I am particularly fond of the Armitage Store- but they are all favorites!

a must visit when you are in Chicago- the home of Paper Source- they are still locally owned! I can't say enough good stuff- or keen things.

Do something Creative Every day, people!

PAPER SNOBS. Yes, Paper Source does have it all, but they are incredibly rude! Unless you know exactly what you want and don't need any help at all, go somewhere else... (This rating applies to the Chicago location only.)
