EXPECT TO WAIT ESPECIALLY LONG FOR CUSTOM ORDERS. I ordered a Hooker file cabinet from Toms-Price in Wheaton. Quoted delivery was three to four weeks. Of course, I understand that with custom orders there are no guarantees. A little more than four weeks later, I called the store to check on the status of my order. I was told that my order was in. Initially, the fact that I was not called didn't concern me. However, I did become concerned when the available delivery times were two to three weeks out. When pushed, I was offered a delivery time in ten days. It is ridiculous when it takes nearly as long for delivery to your home to be scheduled as it does for the custom furniture to be delivered to the place of purchase. This additional lengthy delivery time is something a customer should be notified of in advance.

When I came to Toms-Price, I knew exactly what I wanted to buy as the file cabinet was ordered to match a Hooker desk that I already owned. Other local dealers of Hooker include Carson's and Walter E. Smithe. In the future, I will not choose Toms-Price.
