Terrible waxing, good for mani/pedi only

I recently moved to Evanston and have enjoyed the manicure and pedicure services I have received from T-Top Nails. The women are nice, courteous and quick. Yesterday I decided to have an eyebrow wax with Lynn which turned out to be a miserable experience. The wax was very thick, the woman applied it too close to my eyelid and when she ripped it off I screamed out in pain. I was left with bruised skin and red marks all around my eyelid. When I showed Lynn my injured eye she said the hair was thick. But I don't have hair growing on my eyelid! More disappointing was she did not apologize.

This place is good for basic manicures and pedicures but DO NOT trust them with waxing. You'll regret it.

This is a very good nail salon in a convenient location right across the street from the main Evanston Post Office, with a strong emphasis on cleanliness which is often times an after thought in nail salons. I've been to so many other places where I walked in and a few minutes later I walked out, because I was not impressed. T-Top is family owned and operated and the technicians are personable, efficient and good at what they do. They have a very large selection of high end nail polish and also do nail art. I love the powder gel nail application. It's so much better than acrylics and it looks so natural. They provide a small box , imprinted with your name including files and implements so when you come for an appointment they are using your box that is yours alone. I also liike the fact that I can get in and out quickly because they are efficient and on time. They also accomodate walk ins. I highly recommend this nail salon.

• Pros: Conveniently located, easy metered parking, clean, efficient and good work
• Cons: Be sure to bring quarters for the metered parking. 2 hour max for the meter
