Parmesan and crushed red pepper shakers top red- and-white checked, vinyl-clothed tables at this ultra-casual, tile-floored pizzeria with hauntingly good, relentlessly filling deep-dish pies. Thin-crust pizzas are popular among lighter eaters, topped with sausage, mushrooms and even shrimp. Italian beef, sausage or combo sandwiches continue the Windy City theme, while spaghetti and meatballs, fettuccine Alfredo and eggplant Parmesan offer a bit of a diversion. Sweets, not surprisingly, run to cannoli, cheesecake and tiramisu. –

Had better pizza at Chuck E. Cheese.

by artcarmark at Citysearch

Let me first say that I am a fan of Chicago pizza and, although there are much better options, I've liked Giordano's "Chicago Style" pizza in the past. However, their thin crust pizza maybe the worst pizza I have ever tasted. It doesn't even earn the required one star.....really. Not to mention, we paid $32 for two medium pizzas. At this price, I would hope for a memorable pie and that is what we got, it was terrible. The crust was thick, not thin as advertised, and tasted like a frozen pizza. Save your money and buy DiGiorno's. It couldn't be any worse.

  • Pros: None
  • Cons: Crust is like a bad frozen pizza

Worst Customer Service

by lisa614 at Citysearch

My family and I waited for an hour and a half only to be treated with the rudest customer service I've experienced. The hostesses were abhorently immature and foul and on top of it by the time we got seated and our food, it wasn't all that great. I'd have enjoyed Pizza Hut just as much or perhaps more seeing that I wouldn't have to deal with rudeness on top of it!

The Details on Giordano's

Know Before You Go:

Stuffed pizzas take 35-40 minutes to bake, so it's a good idea to order in advance.

On the Menu:

The pizza is filling, so before you order that large pie, think about how hungry you really are. The small stuffed pizza can feed 3 people.

Know Before You Go:

If you're planning to go the deep-dish route, order while you wait. It's not uncommon to find hour-plus waits, even during late weekend afternoons. Add that to the fact that deep-dishers take up to 45 minutes to bake and are made-to-order.

On the Menu:

Send out-of-towners a taste: Giordano's sells mail order pizzas online.
