The very worst
by brerrabbit2 at Citysearch
WIthout doubt, the single worst experience in a hotel I've ever had. This hotel managed to repeatedly make messes of each interaction I had with them over the week I stayed. In all honesty, I would've gladly left and stayed in a hostel, were it not for the fact that I was working in the hotel.
My room was dirty. They apologized and offered to move me to another room. That room's (wired only) internet didn't work, which kept me from being able to do my job. They offered to move me to a suite. 14 hours after they said they'd call when I was moved, the front desk informed me that my new (now smaller than before) room was ready. The bell desk only moved half my bags. I had to call security to find that out. Security informed me that they'd seen my bags in my old room, and encouraged me to go get them myself, and only deigned to get them for me when I offered that I'd destroyed my old key. The bell who fetched my bags originally sent the sport coat (required attire for my next day's work) that was draped over the bag they bothered to move to dry cleaning, which they charged me for. They offered to compensate for this by giving me access to their executive lounge, the hostess of which spent my 30 minute stay there dancing in front of "Dancing with the Stars", cranked to top volume. The next night, after my 4th consecutive 14 hour shift in the hotel, I ordered room service. 2 hours later, after I'd given up and gone to sleep, it showed up. The man who delivered it actively questioned why I didn't tip him.
Never, ever stay here. The only thing impressive about this hotel is it's height.
Good views and location

I stayed at the Sheraton Towers and found the hotel enjoyable. The hotel is located right on the river and is walking distance to many of the fine attractions that Chicago has to offer. The hotel has a nice workout center and a bar in the lobby. My room was average size, but provided outstanding views of the river and downtown Chicago. The crowd in the hotel seemed to be a high percentage of business travelers and convention folks.
Misleading

Came hear on business last minute...all the hotels that I wanted to stay at were all booked up so started searching and the Sheraton Chicago Towers looked very nice in the pictures...beware! When we checked in the hotel lobby is very nice (looks recently renovated) and checked us into our room, we specifically asked for nonsmoking and then checked us into smoking which smelt so awful I thought I was going to get a nosebleed, they switched us into another room with a view of a dirty roof..then I realized how misleading the photos are on the website compared to what they look like in person..horrible...the only good thing I can say is the beds were comfortable....I don't want to be a superficial but definately not worth $399 a night! Stay at the W or the Westin instead!
- Pros: Comfortable Bed
- Cons: $399 a night for this well below average hotel!
"Girls" on the Town

Six of us ladies spent four nights here. It's a great location; close to everything without having to walk too far. The rooms were clean with plenty of space, and the beds were very comfortable. We had great views. Service was good everywhere, except it was pretty slow at the "express" restaurant down on the river even though it was not busy. We got a good rate through Southwest Airlines. I would stay here again
- Pros: Good location, Good Service, Comfortable
Wonderful

I just had a great weekend. We stayed at the Sheraton and I will stay there again on my next visit to Chicago. You can't beat the location. Close to just about everything. We walked to all our destinations. Two blocks to Michigan Ave, two blocks to Navy Pier. The beds are so comfy I didn't want to leave the room. Room service was excellent and quick. Excellent view of the city and lake. Next time we will ask for the other side of hotel because they had just as good as view (river, lake, city). Our check-in/check-out was a breeze.
- Pros: Location, View, value
- Cons: , Ice machine broken, beds too comfy
