The Scene – Gently cascading drapes with white and gold tones create the intimate feeling of a boudoir, with sexy lingerie that definitely suits the scene. Lace panties are delicately matted on boards for discrete browsing, while robes, bras and negligees flow from plush hangers on floor and wall racks around the room. – – The Goods – Slip into elegantly embroidered panty sets by Ravage, Lise Charmel and La Perla, which also offers a line of fashionable swimwear. BUYER BEWARE

Although Enchante Lingerie carries the best variety of fine french lingerie brands I have encountered in Chicago (which really is not saying much), I will never, ever make the mistake of shopping there again. A cursory google search of a few of these brands revealed that Enchante's prices are as much as 32% higher than retail! Considering that the boutique appears to house merely one article of each item (yes, literally; there was only one size option available in stock for each item I considered), it seems that Enchante provides the consumer with little more than the convenience of local purchase. Yet, taking into account the fact that almost everything it sells is available from the manufacturer in only three sizes to begin with (S-M-L), it is hard to go too wrong buying the exact same item over the internet for nearly a fraction of what Enchante boutique and its associated website, enchantelingerie, charge. Based on my observations, I wager that Enchante's business model consists of buying at the retail price 1-2 articles of each item it sells, and then passing its overhead on to the consumer in the form of ridiculously jacked up sticker prices. But to be as fair in my review as possible, I will give Enchante Lingerie the benefit of the doubt and resist my initial instinct to condemn such practices as price gouging; rather, I will presume that it does not buy in large enough quantities to qualify for wholesale rates. Regardless, I, for one, refuse to be this store's sucker a second time.
