Editorial Review for Hilton Garden Inn Chicago – by Suzanne Carmel
The Scene
Contemporary decor and functional furnishings make this hotel a good choice for general comfort and convenience. It carries the same amenities as other Hiltons in the chain, and the added service needed to compete with Chicago's other large hotels.
The Details
The 357 guest rooms--including six suites--are on floors 13 to 23, above the garage and away from noisy traffic below. Comfortable furnishings are basic, and guests have access to the signature Hilton Garden Inn hospitality center, complete with microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker and complimentary coffee. In addition, the hotel's 24-hour Pavilion Pantry off the lobby sells snacks and beverages to go. Business travelers will appreciate the optional high-speed Internet access, desk-level outlets and ergonomic chairs. The 24-hour business center is complimentary for guests, with a computer, laser printer, photocopier and fax.

Traveling with 15 and 11 year olds can be asking for trouble, but we were pleasantly surprised to find the hotel right at the subway stop. Take the turn for the NE corner, up the steps and you are practically in the door! We were not sure what to expect, but we had a clean, quiet room and an attentive staff. The pool was small and the hot tub looked a little too foamy. OK, alot too foamy! This hotel is in a location surrounded by other hotels that would be considered a step up, but you really can't go wrong here. Tons of family dining options, and convienence stores are also nearby. Ask for a room on the north side. The view is better there. We would without question come back to this hotel. Thank you Hilton Garden Inn staff.

Great location, only a short walk away from Michigan avenue, and in a great area for a variety of restaurants, bars, nightlife. The staff is very friendly. Check in/out was very quick. Rooms are average, just like any other hotel, very updated, not too small. I would definetly recommend this hotel for anyone, business, pleasure, whether it be family or a romantic getaway.
Pros: location, reasonable
