GOOD: the food's not all that bad -- except for the time I broke a tooth on their bacon in my salad (go figure).
BAD: service is surly (usually), but the worst thing is that the place is disgustingly dirty. I don't think they've swept the floor in years -- how the heck do they pass city inspections? Would it take that much to pick up the junk on the floors?
RESULT: we used to eat lunch here on the weekends pretty often; now we go to Cosi or one of the other sandwich and salad places. It's just not worth it to eat at Corner Bakery. The Saint Clair restaurant is the worst -- but the others are pretty much just as bad.
- Pros: food's OK
- Cons: place is just plain dirty

Not the Best Breakfast
by eljaykay at Citysearch
Our hotel recommended Corner Bakery. When we arrived the line was almost out the door. I ordered a Sunrise breakfast which is scrambled eggs w/ cheese, toast, bacon and browned potatoes. After ordering the lady that took my money, quickly told me to go over to the right and...? I did not understand what she said, before I could ask, she was taking the next customers order! I sat down at a table and waited for my food. What showed up was a Farmers breakfast. The wait staff that delivered it did not speak English, so I put up with it and ate it. Hint, if you hire wait staff from different countries...please educate them on what each meal looks like. A farmers breakfast has peppers and onions in the eggs not cheese.
The food itself was tasteless and bland. If you have a choice skip the corner bakery.
- Pros: Close to hotel, Price
- Cons: Wait Staff No English, Food below average, crowded
