Zazu Salon in Hinsdale.
As a business owner, I like frequenting businesses that make me feel special, charge me a fair price, have a nice place to go, and walk out feeling great.
I don't even care about a really good haircut because it's hard to make me look good, but no reason to be received at front desk by disaffected people. If you don't treat all people like they are special, then you shouldn't be in reception or representing your business.
But, then I spoke with the owner. Completely the same...didn't care about his stylists or patrons. All he cared about was getting in as many people as possible and getting as much $$ as he could from each visit. There's even a system of increasing fees based on how often you go(wish we could do that in healthcare!). If you've gone 3 times, or so, then you will get a different fee structure. Complete B.s. Even in my profession, most are terrible, but at least most healthcare providers, while we don't understand customer service, we still care.
It's Just the Best.
I've been a patron of Zazu for over twenty years. I've been treated like a princess as employees tend to my comfort. I've never waited more than ten minutes, and although I've had a hundred cuts, I've only had a problem once, when I had to ask the stylist to go shorter. They keep up with the latest trends, but if you don't want to go there--they stay exactly with what you ask for.
I'm shocked to read a negative review. I have referred at least fifteen women there and all continue to visit. Owner Sammy, a hair geniuis, has set up extensive training for the stylists to maintain the quality they began with. Allthough they sell hair care products, I've never been asked to buy one, but have done so on my own a few times.
ASTONISHING. My aunt went to Zazu and saw a young woman by the name of Kelly Lamb. After her hair cut she was so amazed by this lovely lady that she set an appointment up for me, with Kelly. My aunt explained how Kelly cut her hair with exquisite charm and professionalism. Going to see Kelly was the best thing I could have done for my hair, she gave me the best hair cut of my life. I have never experienced a hair stylist with such energy and expertise. She listened to what I wanted and explained what we could do for my look. Kelly is definitely one of the best in her field and she was great in making me feel comfortable and relaxed. Kelly listens to what you want or helps you find what your are looking for. Thank you Kelly Lamb!
Horrible. For the money you spend you can do a lot better. I paid top dollar for an absolutely terrible haircut. Worse yet, it was by a "senior stylist". I was incredibly dissappointed. The stylist barely said two words to me before he started chopping away. At the same time I was trying to explain to him that I didn't want it too short. He was nodding his head in agreement then looked up at me and said, "i'm sorry I couldn't hear you, what did you say?". He never asked what I wanted or even my first name for that matter. Any attempts at communicating what I wanted were met with complete disinterest. Further, he kept dropping the comb on the floor and picking it up and using it on my hair. Didn't even so much as rinse it off. However, most importantly, my hair looks awful.
