Tips for Us Post Office

Contrary to previous reviews. I had an issue and called the post office. The man I spoke with (Scott) was very helpful and looked into my issue. He called back, in a timely fashion, after checking into some information regarding my issue. I was very pleased with his demeanor and he most definitely was not rude by any means.

USPS under duress of own doing. I'm not surprised the postal system is in trouble. Though I've been assured to the contrary, it seems no coincidence that since the decision came down that LaGrange Park branch post office no longer handles the HOLD/Forward and SIGNATURE REQUIRED mail process, I've spent many hours in waiting in lines and had unpleasant contacts with and in the LaGrange Office. Missing, "lost" or "in limbo" packages, along with surly clerks caused me to end my involvement with Ebay purchases. Most recently, I had asked and completed paper work to have my mail forwarded to Dallas for 3 months- and despite my return home and filling out the RESUME delivery paperwork in early November, and several follw-up calls to the Postmistress and clerks am still having most first class mail sent to Dallas along with an occasional magazine. (For example, the Sept.13th NEWSWEEK arrived in Dallas yesterday, 12/26.) When I was in Dallas, I did NOT receive mail on a regular basis- in several documentable cases, not at all. (Wedding and shower invites, etc.) Of course, it's hard to know what else was not forwarded/received. Since the transfer of my long-time cherished and reliable route carrier last year (Mike) there has been a procession of anonymous and seemingly inattentive individuals "servicing" my route. Previously, I touted my mail service to any and all.

Despite repeated assurances that the situation will be remedied I'm not holding my breath.

rude and inconsiderate customer service. Customer service rep. was rude on the phone and expeded me to know the rules of delivery service after a snowstorm.

I live on a busy street, the mail is delived by a cart, to street side box's. The mailman only needs to pull up and put the mail in a box.

It took a few days after the blizzard to recieved our mail (like most people, and expected) . After the first day we stopped recieving our mail. When I called I was told there had to be a clear path for the car to get to the box, the mailman can't get out of the mailcart,(two steps) to put mail in the box.

We were never notified of this when we recieved our mail the first time after the storm. A notice included with our mail the first time would have helped.

After calling to find out why we weren't getting mail, and asking why, she told me that we had to clear a path to the box. She was rude about it, and told me I should have known to shovel in front of the box.
