The Scene
The mood is warm and ineffably modern, with only a few spare-looking appliances placed about the showroom, no doubt in proper feng shui fashion. The stereos and telephones are up front, while the back is a mock entertainment room featuring tasteful furniture and high-end electronics. While the sales clerks are on you the moment you enter, they don't do the hard sell and are almost frighteningly quick with answers.
The Goods
With the exception of a few Panasonic items, almost everything Denmark-based Bang & Olufsen sells is its own product (which helps eliminate a lot of middleman nonsense). It offers sleek telephones that look almost too delicate to touch, floor speakers shaped like tall chrome poles and lots of stereos. The stereos are the coolest, though, featuring tons of programmability, a range of iMac-like colors and clear covers that slide soundlessly open when your hand approaches them.
