“The bar is solid and they put out a decent hurricane.”
“Best Cajun food next to New Orleans”
“Rich and thick, with an excellent marriage of spices and herbs, heavenly brown gumbo is the best item on their menu.”
“This is a great place.”
“The food here was great, service friendly, and the place had the coolest decorum ever.”
“been a bit expensive throwing a dead cow away every night, but the increased revenue brought in by this brilliant marketing strategy has more than made up for it.”
“Our waiter was slow to get to our table at first.”

The decor may be Applebee's-esque, but the jambalaya will win you over. Try all the hot sauces you can handle, drink a Hurricane, and finish with bread pudding.
Best Cajun food next to New Orleans. Love New Orleans and this is the next best place. Makes you think you are in the Big Easy. Food is great. A good place for a group and plenty to look at on the walls. Bottle and bottles of hot sauce.
Best gumbo in town. Excellent atmoshphere, a real down home new orleans vibe with pleanty of sauces to excite the taste buds. Really enjoyed all the food, and the service is very freindly. The price is worth it, and The etufee is exuberant. mmmmmm mmmmmmm
GO HERE. This is a great place. Yeah it's in a strange spot, but the food, portions, and service are excellent. Go for a work lunch, or an early dinner when you are downtown
good food.
Enjoyed good food several times for both lunch and dinner .
Their food is probably not quite authentic, but very tasty and in a good portion.
CHICAGO CAJUN - YUP IT'S GOOD !!. Well, I travel here weekly from Colorado, and I found this place my first week of commuting here. WHAT A PLACE!! Great food, good service, and awesome Etoufee. Try the Etoufee of the Day and for an appetizer, I LOVE the "Hot as a Mutha" appetizer - but be warned - that puppy is for crazy people like me who love NUCLEAR food! ha ha I only wish the one in the Loop stayed open at night also, as I stay in the Loop.. Oh well, too much heaven can't be good!! ha ha This is a GREAT PLACE!!
A little South of Heaven, but darn close.. So this is about as close as Ive been to the actual Bayou, 3rd time eating Cajun, so I cant attest to its authenticity. Seating was quick and prompt, although I did make reservation just in case. The Mardi Gras inspired atmosphere is charming but a little bit over the top. Our waiter was slow to get to our table at first. The menu choices were ample, but disappointingly lacked descriptions. I had the Gumbo to start with and Louisiana Crab Cakes as my main dish. My date had Gumbo and Pasta Shrimp as a dish. While my date and I both liked the Gumbo, I was really more impressed with it than she was. And similarly on the main dishes, I loved the Crab Cakes, while my date wasnt thrilled about her dish. This location also makes a convenient dinner and a movie with the Cineplex up stairs.

The food was amazing! I had the special of Halibut over some kind of mashed potatoes. Wow!! Their Gumbo was excellent as well.
Our server (John) was magnificant. He knew so much about how the food was cooked and prepared. He was very professional and I would recommend recommending him.
Order the Gumbo by the Bowl. Rich and thick, with an excellent marriage of spices and herbs, heavenly brown gumbo is the best item on their menu. The Louisiana Soul Platter is a wonderous sampling of the bayou: Cajun Sausage, jambalaya, hoppin' john, red beans and rice, and gtreen... AH EE YAH! Zydeco, Blues and Cajun music sets the mood, along with the collectio of hot saucrs and Mardi Gras stuff. Enjoy an delicious hurricane.
If you're cravin' some Cajun, this sassy spot provides a darn good mini-trip to the Big Easy.. Mardi Gras beads dangle from chandeliers, myriad bottles of hot sauce are lined up on tables, and occasional crawfish races add to the riot of this raucous, Louisiana-style restaurant. Chef Jimmy Bannos' food favors flavor over heat: from crawfish egg rolls and Louisiana crab cakes to scrumptious jalapeno cheddar corn muffins. Need to cool off? Try tangy Key lime icebox pie--that and the dark, rich chicory coffee complete the New Orleans experience.
Try the Gumbo!.
May 2007 - Service and food is always good at Heaven. The gumbo and jalepeno-cheese corn bread is out of this world! The po'boy and soup of the day were excellent!
If you like it spicy, they have enough choices for heat! Most dishes are spicy, if your stomach can't take the heat take I would not recommend Heaven. A fun place to dine or have lunch. They also have a breakfast menu. The chocolate pecan pie is very good and worth every penny.
