Pay cash. It seems that they have tried to dress up the place, but I suppose the saying "you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear" applies to this bar. I personally enjoy a down to earth bar. What I find is down to the dirt, not the earth. The staff is acceptable. The service is acceptable. What left me feeling ripped off was that I was, in fact, ripped off. I used a credit card to pay my bill. Upon receiving my monthly statement, I was charged twice! I've only been there once! Exact same amount was charged. I have a feeling they make a practice of submitting credit card charges in duplicate "in error" to see what they can get away with.

I'd recommend going elsewhere.

High Beer prices. I was working a late shift at work yesterday and some of the people had mentioned good time to get a beer after work. Well they left and I finished up a little later. Dont know where they wound up but I stopped at O'Malleys about 11:30 pm.

A really big guy was guarding the door and didnt say anything to me as I entered, glad no cover charge, I found the bathroom before heading to the bar. The bath was serioulsy messed up with paper towels , etc. on the floor.

Heading to the bar for a drink I found a seat toward where kareoke was being enjoyed by what was probably regular patrons. The bar was so loud from kareoke and the rowdy crowd I couldnt hear the lady bartender. I orderd a glass of guiness beer on tap. It was alright but after having given the bartender a $20.00 bill I only got back $10.75 in change.

I know I' m a middle aged guy and all but has a small glass of beer gone to $9.25 per glass? I wondered how the bar could be so loud and unruly from all the drunken patrons at those prices? Not going back.

A great experience.. A couple of our friends wanted to go to O'Malley's for St. Patty's day. My husband and I had never been there so I did a quick search online. I read some reviews and was somewhat concerned. But I tried to remind myself that you never know what someone's intentions are when they start writing. I called the establishment and spoke with the manager that day to be safe. Very nice gentleman. Since we never go anywhere without our daughter, we asked if it was appropriate to bring her. He said absolutely. He also said there was no cover charge. So we all decided it was green light. My husband and I are both Irish and we were dressed for the occasion with green wigs and all. We wanted to have fun but didn't want any drama. We were very pleased when we entered the Irish Pub. Everyone was festive and friendly. This was a relief because after reading one of the reviews I kept picturing a bar full of territorial regulars. Instead, we walked in, looked around the room, smiled and took a seat with our friends. Two patrons at a table next to us were leaving and said they couldn't finish their pitcher of beer. We graciously accepted it and happily finished it off for them. The wait staff was cordial and everyone in our group enjoyed the food they ordered. However, they did run out of two Irish dishes before 6:00pm. They must have been really good to go that fast. We stayed for the bagpipe entertainment and they passed out green hats and beads. Nice touch. The clientele was a perfect mix of family's (even a few children) and regulars as well. The back patio seemed to be a popular location. Good weather. I think our waitress was new. Tough night to break in a new person. But she really scrambled to be as attentive as possible. The experience was great and we certainly will go back. I would recommend a different way of keeping a tab open with customers though. Holding on to a credit card is not safe these days and ours was given to the wrong person when it was time to settle up. Other than that, the night was exactly what we had hoped for. Kicking up our heels on St. Patty's day has always been important to us. O'Malley's delivered.

Shady Shady Place. This place was an extreme disappointment. To start off, the location is in the middle of nowhere, and when I walked in the door they wanted a $5 cover. My buddy walked in 10 minutes later and the door guy didn't charge him, not to mention the countless people I saw walk in during the 10 minutes that weren't charged. I confronted the doorman about the cover charge which had seemed suspicious all along and he told me that I could leave any time I wanted. He claimed to just be doing his job, and that he charged during the times that his boss told him to, which was apparently from 9:30 PM - 10:45 PM (Though I later found out that he had charged some other people at 9:00. He wasn't using a cash register or anything and the whole cover charged just seemed to be an extra way for him to make money.

So, I asked to speak to his boss, whom I was told was downstairs in the office, I asked him and one of the bartenders to go get him for me, and was merely told that he would be up shortly, which was another 10 minutes.

So I finally talked to the manager/owner, not sure which and he explained that they don't normally charge their "regulars" the cover charge, I explained that my buddy wasn't a regular and no one bothered him. The bar was 90% regulars, seeing as how it was in the middle of nowhere and a total dump, so basically they charge a cover to "non-regulars" for an hour when there is a band and make an extra $100 for the night.....Give me a break, the only people they're making money off if is the visitors, not their regulars who drink MGD and HighLife.

Long story short, the manager did return my cover and got me a free drink, but it is really a shady, trashy type of place which seems to only cater to regulars, which is their choice, I guess. I will never go there again, especially not when it seems like the doorguy just charges the cover to whoever he thinks he can get it from.
