Ambra Salon & European Day Spa can be found in the newly reopened & revamped bi-level space on the corner of Superior & State street, after outgrowing their 1st location in the Gold Coast area for more than a decade. Ambra offers all standard services (including the famously painless bikini wax), but it has added a full-service hair salon and other new intriguing new items to the menu. No Chip manicures remain glossy and completely intact for 2 weeks and beyond. Ambra also has new Futuresse facial and massage treatments, which use a technique owner Marie Bartkova went to Germany to perfect & involves sending vibration through the body using sounds made by "singing" Tiberian metal bowls. The Scene
This spa's decor is more traditional than modern (emerald green carpeting, wicker seating and treatment rooms similar to candlelit doctor's offices), but downtown professionals and shoppers appreciate efficient treatments. Amenities are functional, not over the top--water comes from a water cooler, the bathroom features a regular shower--for patrons who are more interested in service than wowing, but superfluous, details.

Unpretentious skin and body treatments, including European facials, Brazilian bikini waxes, nail services and a mostly successful variety of holistic massages (the aromatherapeutic "emotional release" massage is a Swedish rub with new age appeal). Permanent makeup applications, collagen treatments and medi-spa services such as microdermabrasion, chemical peels, Botox and spider vein removal are also available. An on-site apothecary sells herbal supplements, Biodroga deep-cleansing products, Biodroga herbal body treatments and more to keep up the fuss without muss at home.

Everyone was so polite & professional. Staff made you feel welcome. Not a snooty or stuffy establishment. Very clean. Massage was wonderful & relaxing. Pedicure Spa was the best! Loved the wine & strawberries. Will definitely go back.

You need to go here!! Jerrdann is the guy you need to go to for a cut, style and color. I've NEVER been happy when I've left a salon until Jerrdann started doing my hair. I have naturally curly hair and he does a fantastic job.

Jerrdann is by far the most exceptional stylist who has always done my hair exactly how I wanted. Due to his talent, I actually feel comfortable just letting him cut and color however he thinks necessary with no questions asked. He has also been very accommodating as far as my schedule goes. I would recommend his outstanding service to anyone who is looking for an extraordinary hair stylist. He has been mine for about 7 years and let me tell you, I live about 500 miles away now, but I still have Jerrdann do my hair.
