The Scene
This sleek, bustling fourth-floor salon and spa caters to an affluent crowd, but it's not stodgy. The long modern space is mirrored, and stylists tend to be young trendies in hip huggers and designer tees. Downstairs, the spa is a different world: understated, quiet and compact.
The Services
Expert staff gives facials, massage and wax treatments in several small rooms off a narrow hallway. An intimate waiting lounge offers pitchers of water and a few seats, but the tight quarters mean that most people are out the door soon after their services. Facials are in high demand with the 40-and-older set, and the spa offers five different treatments, including deep-surface peels and paraffin-wax masks. You won't see many men here, but guys are certainly welcome; several services (including select manicures and facials) are geared specifically toward male customers.

olga at Charles Ifergan... I just got a color from her and it is BEAUTIFUL!!!! She is easy to talk to and fun to chat. I was out in less than 2 hours for an all over foil. It is very rare that I feel I walk out a salon with a great looking hair, but she NAILED IT!!!!!!!! Her work is great. I love my new color - Olga is a magician!!!

I have read other reviews on this salon from people who didn't have such a great experience. i would urge them to try again. i've been all over the city and there are a lot good and bad salons out there. i had my hair cut by aaron and highlighted by sam (or samantha) and it was a lot of fun. by the time they were finished i felt like we were best friends! they spent time with me, gave their opinions, listened to my concerns and together came up with a look that is totally me! the prices were average to expensive, but worth it. i can't wait to go back and hang out with them again, but more importantly, because my hair looks so great! a lot of salons in chicago, especially the gold coast, have some employees that could use an attitude adjustment, or could be happier about their jobs, etc. like the other reviewers said. to me, when you find the people you like, you stick with them. and i'm not going anywhere!
Pros: talented stylist and colorist, busy atmosphere, lively
Cons: salon decor could use some updating (i'm nitpicking now!)
