Nice club, very inviting
by Robert Newton
After a long frusration with the crowded and loud YMCA, I decided to try out the free 14 day pass at Health Quest Fitness. Much to my surprise, the experience was easy and no pressure what so ever to join. After the 14 days, I went back to the YMCA for a week and couln't stand it any more and joined Health Quest. It was easy - 0 enrollemnt fee for first time sign up and no long term contract, so I can leave whenever I wish. The club is very clean and never crowded. I started using a trainer and he is great. I have lost 12 pounds in 5 weeks.
Overall, this healthclub has been a great experience. There is far less noise and no congestion. The staff is very helpful and friendly and the facility is clean and offers everything needed for me to enjoy working out.
Best Fitness Center in Northwest Suburbs!!!

This fitness center is like being at a beautiful, clean spa...I have to remind myself that I'm here to workout!! No lines to get on equipment, all cardio machines have their own televisions (w/cable channels : ) awesome steam room...like I said, just like an upscale spa. All of the staff are very freindly and they have great personal trainers who are so helpful. Give it a try and see for yourself, you wont be sorry that you did. My goal is to look as good as they all do.......LOL!!
HEALTH QUEST FITNESS

This gym unfortunately does not meet the cut. For being a small business you would expect common courtesy from the owner, especially in these tough economic times, where for many of us the gym is a luxury. Needless to say he is rude, arrogant, and seems more intent on developing his physique rather than that of his clients. He spends most of his time on the floor honing his skills, along with one of his employees( I believe she is the manager).
The front desk staff changes as often as the trainers. I have never had the same trainer twice- that's pretty telling!! The final straw to his rudeness was when I mentioned to him that because of a family emergency I would not be able to use the gym for the next two months and if he could freeze my membership. Bear in mind that I had been a member for a while at this point.( I joined only because of proximity to work.) He informed me that I would have to rejoin and pay the membership registration fee again despite me explaining the situation to him, and then to my horror went right back to working on his routine again. That was the final straw.
I have better institutions and more deserving people to give my money to.
Very Fair

This gym does the job! Thank goodness the price is just high enough to keep out the stupid college kids. It contains all the equipment needed to get you in great shape and is never too crowded. Fat and anoying people please stay at the park district gym or YMCA.
- Pros: Clean, Plenty of equipment, never need to wait for anything, no lazy fat people just walking around talking
- Cons: Not enough hot girls, Could use better music, Too many guys in locker rooms with no cloths but not as bad as park district or ymca

I've been a member for nearly 5 years. The new ownership has been great- well maintained equipment, clean, very nice staff, and a good location.
I had to laugh at the stories re. the "free pass". Club members are of all age groups. Loud, rude, and/or people not serious about getting a good workout wouldn't be welcome by the members- much less the management. If they were asked to leave because they acted like jerks with "free coupons" then it's best for all. Go to Bally's!
- Pros: clean, location, good assortment of equipment
- Cons: no whirlpool
