Deleece

Eclectic neighborhood restaurant with a new menu and new décor

Change is good, and we have a lot of that going on at Deleece. We still have all of our favorite signature dishes, but our new chef Steven Obendorf is cooking up a fabulous new menu that changes with the seasons. Our new décor is even warmer and more comfortable than before and our service remains as professional and personable as ever.

Regulars rave about the excellent food, affordable prices, and their favorite server, Pete. The cambazola stuffed rack of lamb and pan seared salmon with pear ginger sauce are to die for.

Editorial Review for Deleece – by J.P. Anderson

The Scene
Comfortable and tasteful, with a decor of exposed brick, tile floors and velvet curtains. It's quiet, but a buzzing neighborhood crowd fills the place later in the evenings. Service is smart and quick--a good thing for pre-theater types on the way to a show at the Music Box or Mercury Theater, about a quarter-mile south.

The Food
A tasty, creative fusion menu delivers endive salad (with apples, pecans and a nice blue-cheese tang) and ginger-and-scallion crab cakes (with a good, crumbly coating). Caramelized pan-roasted salmon with sticky black rice is perfectly cooked, accompanied by a sweet pear-ginger sauce. Signature rack of lamb is a rich entree, stuffed with cambozola cheese, crusted with Dijon mustard and bread crumbs, then roasted to a tender, moist medium. At Sunday brunch, try cinnamon-orange "upside-down" French toast or eggs Benedict, which gets a classy twist with spinach, artichokes and sun-dried tomato hollandaise.

I have eaten at Deleece several times and every time has been better than the last. The food is tasty and innovative and the restaurant itself is welcoming and trendy without trying too hard. This is the perfect friendly neighborhood place. Good for dates; good for groups of friends-- I can't recommend it highly enough.

Pros: friendly service, delicious food, charming restaurant

Cons: none

I tried Deleece for the first time last night and had an amazing time! Our server was great - she was super knowledgeable about the menu, wines and even the art hanging on the wall. We started with the potstickers and the sauce is so good you should keep it around after you've finished for dipping the bread! The butter lettuce salad was delicious, and the salmon and lamb were both wonderful dishes as well. I was very pleasantly surprised and can't wait to go back to try the rest of the menu!

Pros: service, menu

Cons: parking
