“good dance club, fun hot guys, good music, overall good time”
“the place was great a fun atmosphere great dance floor a little high priced on drinks but overall fun”
“the staff is horrible and the untrained security is on a power trip.”
“Very reasonable drink prices, nice staff and such a fun, eclectic crowd.”
Overpriced, underwhelming, and liars. I went there for a 4th of July party yesterday and was completely disgusted by the service. First of all, all of the advertisements (including one on the cash register) listed the cover as 10 dollars. WRONG. They charged 25 dollars...apparently bc they knew that after a 30 min wait outside..who would then turn away? Also, the security was walking around staring at everyone like they stole something (what was in this "warehouse"that anyone would want to steal??). Finally, the club said that as long as you had a wristband, you could leave and return. Once it got a little crowded, my friends and I left and then returned an hour later. No one was allowed back in. Due to poor crowd control and disgusting greed, the club was well over its capacity. That was not the problem. For me, the problem was that the security treated the patrons like animals...yelling at us that we could not get back in, like we had done something wrong for trusting the club at its word. I will NEVER return to this club again and I encourage others to go to the much nicer clubs on Halsted st.
glad to see this room open again, circuit's fun but when you want to talk and get to know someone in a relaxed atmosphere I prefer rehab. The new room is beautiful, the colors and textures are hot. I was there for a party and really enjoyed the people, the music, and the view. I plan to come back with others, but I'm almost afraid to share this so it doesnt become too crowded like the other bars up and down Halsted. The only down side, is the new room make circuit look dated and tired.
Thanks for bring back one of my favorites, and kudos to the designer!
PLEASE BEWARE OF THIS PLACE !!!. ~~~~~~~~~~~ Please beware of this place !!! the staff is horrible and the untrained security is on a power trip. I was with a group of friends when the security comes running right by us and starts beating on some guy that was asked to leave .I saw the whole thing right next to us the guy was drunk but was just telling the short Latin security guy that it was fine and he would walk out by him self . The guy was trying to get his coat ticket from his friend and security would not let him get it so the security started to pull on him forcefully and then tried to put him in a headlock the guy pushed the security guy and told him that he wanted his jacket the security started to strike him in the face so he fought back then another security comes up and starts punching him in the face too while the other guy had his arms already pulled back not cool at all ! I went up to the security and said that that is not cool to use that kind of force on a person that is drunk . the poor guy was not combative until he was forced to defend himself . I asked for a mgr to let them know what I saw and they all stuck together and said he brought it apon himself . We have all been there and got a little out of line but seriously should you get the living daylights beat out of you by security like that . Also the bartender tried to short change me thinking I wouldn't`t notice . The place is very dirty and just not all that . Sorry but I would rather spend my money some other club that treats people with dignity and respect . This is for the poor guy out there that got the daylights beat out of him . I will never step foot in there again .....
The Circuit: The trashiest "night club" in gay Chicago.
Okay, my girlfriend and I stopped at the circuit thinking that it would a dance club, something a little different than our dance clubs at home, maybe even bigger and better. When we walked inside it was the most unimpressive dirty place either of us had ever been. I would definately consider this place the dive bar of boystown. Being from Omaha Nebraska, which isn't nearly a big as Chicago, our clubs are actual clubs, places you would want to go, multiple dance floors and hot people. The circuit was more or less empty on a saturday night at 12am, and the people dancing on the "dance floor" were over 30 and not very pretty. We couldn't even stomach to stay more than 20 minutes.
Within the first 3 minutes of being there we were harrassed by the "security guards" for going into the bathroom together. It was pretty repulsive and when we said something on the way out, we were more or less ignored.
You can definately tell that this place had no sense of community. Which is really sad for Chicago, or at least gay Chicago. It makes me proud to be gay where I'm from because when we go to our gay bars and gay dance clubs, we're welcomed, and you know people, and it's a true community of people. I guess it just goes to show you that larger cities, being so much larger, can contain that much more trash than a smaller city could.
I think that if you are expecting trashy, dirty, cheap (not literally) because you spend entirely too much money, on over-priced, watered-down cocktails, this is the place for you. But if you hold yourself in any kind of regard and consider yourself to have even an ounce of class, and would like to go out and have a fun time rather than want to have to take an acid bath after leaving, you should stay clear of the circuit, this is not the place for you.
Choose from two of the hottest night spots in Boys Town..
Go one way, and you could end up dancing next to shirtless gay men and women in stilettos. Go the other way, and you'll forgo the boogieing in favor of a laid-back, cozy lounge. Circuit and Rehab have separate signs out front, but they're sections within the same club. Take the plunge at Circuit, and you'll be treated to strange sound bites--digital screams, cackles and mooing cows. The flashing lights reveal every inch of the converted garage. The dance floor is huge, but as the night progresses, it bursts at the seams with various types of gyrating bodies.
You'll have no problem getting a drink in Circuit, with its four bars and plentiful bartenders, and there's barely a wait even on the most crowded nights. Try the famous electric blue frozen margarita. Rehab is warmer and more sophisticated than its counterpart, a perfect place to converse intimately with friends. Circuit's high-energy music often seeps into Rehab's cozy ambience and stifles quiet conversation.
Best dance party and DJ's in Chicago. If you haven't been to Circuit, you haven't really been to a dance club in Chicago. Very reasonable drink prices, nice staff and such a fun, eclectic crowd. The first time I went was Couples Dance Contest Night, and it was more than entertaining. They also get the best DJ's in the world to spin there, so you know it has to be nationally known.
Awesome. After being closed for nearly a year, Circut is back and much better than ever. They are really putting a lot of effort into the club. The music has gotten really good. Plus having boys dancing in cages on Sat. nites are great too. This place has lots of room so even when it's crowded, it does not feel that way.
Cheesy Club. If you like cheese this place is for you. Pink neon lights all the windows. You are first greeted by a vending machine, with Circuit t-shirts and chocate bars. The whole club in carpeted..gross! The bars and seating areas look like they were put together by an unexperienced drunk carpenter. Overuse of wood paneling painted grey topped with a bright red chair rail cover everything in the club. The crowd is sparse on most weekends. The sound system is bad. The entire club needs a complete make over and to be soundproofed if it is to be succesful. Cheese may work in Wisconsin but not Chicago
xyz. good dance club, fun hot guys, good music, overall good time
Circuit has blown a critical fuse.... I remember the days that I used to go out in Chicago... the hot guys, the track pants, the MUSIC. Unfortunately, that's all I can do is remember. Circuit, open for more than a few years now, seems to have never listened to it's clientele about how much it sucks. And the only reason to go there is 'cause there's NOTHING else. Spin: teens. Roscoe's: small/crowded. Sidetracks: no dancing. Felt: stand & model. CellBlock: GREAT music, guys are too intense though. Isn't there a quality dance club for the average gay guy in CHICAGO? One of the largest cities in the USA?!?
