Great Gay Bar. As a straight guy, I see Scot's as a place for gay guys to get together. A male friend and I visited Scots and were way too straight for this place. Living close to the bar I was hoping for more of a corner bar establishment, but in reality, this place is clearly a gay bar. The service is good, as long as you are drinking. Small corner bar great for gay men. I know the CTA is closing the Montrose EL stop so the traffic in and out of Scot's may slow down over the next year, but again, good for gay men.
Just be yourself at this friendly neighborhood gay bar..
In Short
There's not much to Scot's: a couple TVs, two dartboards and a jukebox crammed with '80s and '90s camp classics. But then, this place ain't about glitz; it's about the neighborhood, and the friendly gay and lesbian crowd of Ravenswood locals that hang out here. Whether enjoying cocktails with friends or just killing time while your laundry spins at the 'mat next door, Scot's is a comfortable place where you can relax and be yourself.
Laid-back neighborhood bar. You won't find the Boys Town hotties here, but you will find a relaxed atmosphere, great jukebox, and a neighborhood crowd. Fun place to grab a beer after work.
