I recently moved to Bridgeport in Chicago. I moved from the Northwest suburbs so the neighborhood near US Cellular Field is very different when the White Sox are playing. Now that the area is in winter mode I decided to venture out and experience the nightlife. Catchers Inn or Catchers Music and Sports(Seems as though they have a couple of names) was a nice surprise. They have live music on Fridays and Saturdays and an open mic comedy night on Mondays. The drinks are very reasonable and they are under going a transition. Still there are a few old timers in the place but they are friendly and never really bother anyone. The crowd is fairly young to middle aged but I never felt like it was not safe. The bartender is very friendly and the crowd is as well. I would say even if you don't make it to a White Sox game this would be a place to visit. Great Music the night I was there.
Pros: Safe, easy to park, no cover, great service, nice customers
Cons: on off nights might be slow

This place needs to be torn down. Nice bartender's, however the characters in the joint are as scary as they come. Filled with Bridgeport's worst, half of them blasted while laying on the bar. Try Shinnick's or Mitchell's (both very close) if you want to experience a nice neighborhood bar.
Pros: Close to other, better bars.
Cons: You're scared for your life while here.
