Once was more than enough!.
They were HIGHLY recommended, great website and friendly staff on my one and only visit to the shop. I was in need of a wrist corsage, was quoted a price of $25 and a discussion of color and flowers (baby callas, dendrobium orchids, or small roses) sealed the deal. I arrived 2 days later with great enthusiasm only to have it quickly deflated when I was presented with a corsage of (2) baby callas, mixed greenery & white ribbon to hold it together. It was so small I could fit it in the palm of my hand.
I expressed my displeasure, only to be told more could be added but I'd have to come back later AND it would cost more! They clearly were not interested in pleasing the customer...and there were no other customers in the shop either. I've tried many of the big name florists and wanted to give my business & build a relationship with my local florist...but it's worth it to go elsewhere: Dilly Lily, Fleur, Stems or A New Leaf for the same price but BETTER service & value!
chicago's best floral boutique. If you ever need flowers for any occasion, or a unique gift, this is the place to come to! The flowers are always fresh and very unique--things I've never seen at any other floral shop. The staff is so friendly and knowledgeable. They'll help you design your own bouquet/arrangement or let you linger for as it long as it takes for you to choose your own. Whenever I want to treat myself, I go to Larkspur. The atmosphere is great--from the vintage tin ceilings to the good music playing in the background and an explosion of color and delightful scents--just stepping foot in the door makes me feel better. A staff member told me that the storefront was once a bakery, and flowers buckets are displayed in old wooden flour bins. It's a great place to come for gifts too. Really nice vases, candles, European bath products, interesting jewelry and cards. My friend used Larkspur for her wedding flowers and literally cried when she saw them because she loved them so much. And she can be hard to please, but Larkspur captured exactly what she was looking for. If you haven't had the pleasure of visiting Larkspur, do yourself a favor!
Nicest and best florists in town. It is safe to say that I do not have a flower gene in my body, and I rarely feel comfortable among flowers and plants. This all changed for me when I entered Larkspur. The staff is great and easy going, and there is a wide range of great plants. For the florally challenged, there is no better place to get help the Larkspur.
Full of color and sweet smells all year round. I wandered into Larkspur on a gloomy day and was pleasently surprised by an array of unusual flowers and plants. It also smelled fantastic. I'm usually pretty good about just brousing but I couldn't resist buying a cute plant and a few stems of flowers I'd never seen before. I gave my friend the little bouqet I got and she was really touched . The 15 bucks I spent on flowers was more than worth it to brighten her day. They also had some interesting vintage things there, like old vases and plant hanging hooks.
User review by aberman28. Larkspur is a really great florist to come to. The service is very great, the employees are always there to help, but will also let you be if you want to design your own bouquet. I go to Larkspur for any orders I have, and they are very reliable in getting them there on time. The store also sells other great gifts besides flowers, such as soy candles, antiques, and some really great plants. I highly recommend Larkspur, whether it be for a get well bouquet for a friend or to plan the flowers for your wedding.
larkspur made our wedding magical!. I consulted several designers, and only Larkspur understood what I was going for. The arrangements were just what I'd dreamed of--romantic yet modern, lush yet elegant--truly creative and fresh. I felt like she captured my personality in my bouquet--in fact, I refused to give it away! I also loved just browsing in the boutique. The store is charming and laid-back, and everyone there is so helpful. One of my favorite treats is getting a bouquet that the staff helps pick out just for me. Thanks again, Larkspur, for helping to make my wedding so beautiful and special--friends are still asking about my flowers!
