Best Hairdresser this side of the atlantic. I moved to Chicago from London about 6 years ago and after 5 years of trying various hairdressers across the city I found Emmett. He's amazing!

I love his eye for colour and he always gives a good cut. I trust him completely, so much so that when he asks me at the beginning of an appointment what I'd like to do next- I just say, you're the pro what would you recommend and we talk through it. I've never been disappointed.

BEST HAIR DRESSER IN CHICAGO. Emmett has given me the look I always wanted but he does it with an edge and his talented hands. I enjoy asking him for styling tips and suggestions on makeup as well.

I waited for over 6 months to write this because I was challenging him with color, cut and style. I love hearing friends and family ask how my new cut has changed my appearance. Oh, he does eyebrows too!!!

He's unique and well worth the time and price. He's located inside Salon de Vive in Roscoe Village. Thumbs up and 10++ in ratings. Thank you!!!

My search is finally over!. After many years of disappointing hair cuts, I finally found the right guy. The man has an incredible talent of knowing exactly what you need. Kind, caring, extremely professional and funny, a really good soul.

Emmett was able to work wonders with my extremely frizzy, sometimes curly, over processed hair which has been a challenge for almost every other stylist I have ever met.

I live in the far south west suburbs and will travel whatever distance is necessary for an appt. with Emmett.

Absolutely highly recommended. Find out for yourself what everyone else is raving about., you will not be disappointed. Like me you will wish you found him sooner.

Emmett Hodge. Emmett is an incredible stylist with an eye for color and cut! I personally have fine hair which is extremely hard to cut- Emmett was determined to give me long hair. His creative cuts while working through the growing out stage got us to our goal.

Before each appointment he starts with a consultation, he always asks what I am looking for ensuring I will be happy. His creative eye and attention to detail is always 100%.Emmet is someone who cares about you beyond your time in his chair.

I highly recommend you book an appointment you will not be disappointed.

Hairstylist Extraordinaire. If you need a magician with shears, Emmett Hodge is the guy! My widow-peaked, graying dirty-blonde hair challenges even the most talented professional. However, time and time again, I can always count on Emmett to perform minor surgery and major miracles on my locks. He really listens to what I want and suggests creative possibilities. He knows his stuff! The added perk to Emmett’s great haircuts and coloring is his engaging conversation. Emmett makes me laugh and think in new ways. He’s funny, sensitive and an extraordinary hair stylist.

When Only the Best Will Do.... Emmett is an incredibly talented stylist with a strong creative vision, a well developed sense of style, highly intuitive design flair...and the talent to pull it all together. Having lived in several large cities over the past 15 years, seldom have I found someone of Emmett's caliber and ability. I've been fortunate that he's been my stylist for more than 5 years. He's even rescued me from several self-botched attempts at the latest trends :) All around nice guy, I would recommend him in a heartbeat!

Always satisfied!. I have been going to Emmett for over 3 years. I randomly found him by searching on city search- and he had good reviews so I thought I would check it out. He always gives me the perfect haircut- i am very unhappy. I also trust him 100% with my color- I always got highlights forever- and he suggested I go dark. I trust him so I gave it a shot and I love the color! Everyone I recommend him to loves him! I would never go to anyone else!

most skilled and understanding stylist I've ever encountered. I have been to see Emmett four times, after finding him based on Citysearch reviews. He is everything I hoped for based on these reviews, and more! His haircutting and styling skills are absolutely first-rate. I have not had him color my hair (yet) but after my last haircutting appointment we had a very informative and helpful consultation about color options. Emmett is very attentive to clients: he listens with great kindness, gives advice about what is best for your hair, but then does exactly what you ask. Just to give you an idea of how great Emmett is, I live in Wisconsin, but gladly drive to Chicago to have him do my hair. At other times (in NYC), I have paid four times as much as what Emmett charges and Emmett's work far outshines that of these other stylists. I am very happy to have found Emmett and strongly recommend him; he is absolutely wonderful in every way.

Chicago's Greatest. Stop looking. Have Emmett create a new you! He's the best with color, style and his chairside manner is surpassed by none. For over 11 years, Emmett has been cutting, styling, perming and coloring my hair. I met him at Vi's place on Clybourn years ago and followed him to Belmont ave. The only other person I would let touch my hair is John at Mario Tricoci Stratford who did my hair when I lived in the burbs. But why when I live in Chicago and Emmett is in Chicago and price is 1/3 of Tricoci would ANYONE go anywhere else. A True Master..Emmett is. Watch out Tricoci if Emmett ever decides to open his own shop!

Best haircut. I just wanted to comment about how great Emmett Hodge is. I would recommend him anytime. After a series of not- so-great experiences with hairstylists in Chicago, I saw the comments posted here about Emmett Hodge and decided to pay him a visit. He was very friendly, fun and professional at the same time. I did not have any clue as to what I want with my hair and he did what he thought was the best. It turned out he gave me a best haircut I have ever had with keeping in mind the general things I said i wanted to have (length). All in all, very pleasant experience and I wll deffinitely go back.
