Don't go here for emergency psychiatric care!

Lincoln Park Hospital failed my daughter. She went to the emergency room because of psychological problems. Without even giving her a psych consult, they gave her a prescription and the phone number of the first psychologist on their list. She wasn't prepared for the side effects of the medication and only got an answering machine when she called the psychologist. Two days later she ended up in the emergency room at Northwestern where they admitted her for the night in the psychiatric ward with Post Traumatic Stress syndrome and underlying anxieties. She is now on other medications and being followed by both a psychiatrist and a psychologist (so far for 3 months). We are fortunate she wasn't suicidal!

In addition, I have been fighting with Lincoln Park Hospital for the past 3 months over the bill. I even involved Blue Cross Blue Shield twice. The issue has not yet been resolved. The original bill for "care" was almost $1,000!
