“One more that I forgot to mention, Ja Grill on the Northside - 1008 W. Armitage, food is great and they have excellent service, plus they have a DJ on the weekend.”

Horrible - not so much!.
Love uncle Joe's, don't love this location. The Hyde Park location is the worse. The chicken is generally less seasoned in the Hyde Park location, so don't look for it to be on par with the other locations. I order trays for football and boxing events. Well, this last time was terrible.
Part 1: They told me 15-20min on my small tray order. I'm a patient person, so 10 min over wouldn't bother me. But, my order took an hour. This was a Sunday night right before the Bears game so I remember vividly because I was hosting a party. Needless to say, I was late for my own party.
Part 2: When I got home, after a 2-3 people grabbed a few pieces, there was no more wings or breast. Yes, you heard me right, all legs and thighs in this tray.
Part 3: Called them to complain. This is why I'm writing this review. The manager told me that he would look into my experience. I mentioned to him that I regularly throw parties and order the trays. Well, he looked into the matter and basically told me his staff said I didn't have to wait an hour and they a adequate amount of white meat in the order. Of course they did. That's when I offered to give them proof of the time. He said, not needed, he'll look into the matter further. I have not heard from him again (over a week later).
I'm extremely frustrated because that tray cost me over $40 bucks and I didn't have one piece of chicken. My advice, go to the other Joe's on 83rd and cottage or stony island. If not that, go to tropic island at 419 E. 79th, JR's Jerk at 51 E. 51st, or Jamaican Jerk at 6500 S. Cottage. I will never, go to Hyde Park again. One more that I forgot to mention, Ja Grill on the Northside - 1008 W. Armitage, food is great and they have excellent service, plus they have a DJ on the weekend.
Editorial Review. From tender, juicy jerk chicken to oxtail, this casual restaurant brings the flavors of Jamaica to Hyde Park.
