“They serve great food, bit their service is really bad.”
“Though the prices seem to be a bit high - the quality of this authentic soup & my favorite accompaniment, green tamales, is unsurpassed anywhere except in it's sister restaraunt in Indiana.”
“Taco Mex has the best fresh tamales that I've had the priviledge of eating in a long time.”
Good food, bad Service. They serve great food, bit their service is really bad.
Best Menudo (Mexican Hangover Medicine) in Chi-Town.
I've been enjoying the Menudo & Tamales from this family restaraunt since it first opened as a hot dog stand a half a block away over 20 years ago. The menudo is the best I've ever tasted, as 'homemade' as you can find anywhere. And its restorative powers from late nights is a well earned reputation. Though the prices seem to be a bit high - the quality of this authentic soup & my favorite accompaniment, green tamales, is unsurpassed anywhere except in it's sister restaraunt in Indiana. Though the surrounding area is a somewhat depressing (The shuttered Wisconsin Steel Works) I find myself traveling from the heart of the city to enjoy some authentic food at least once a month.
The 'Carnita' breakfast (fried pork) is also worth the drive.
