CAN YOU SAY, FOOD POISON??? dont feed you dog this crap!. Taqueria El Ranchito

2829 N. milwaukee

DO NOT EAT HERE!!!

On wed. Apr 20, 2011 I ordered food from here,

It was our 3rd time ordering from them. Although we've had not-so-good

experiences from them in the past, it was nothing like this past one!

First of all, There is NEVER a manager/owner available (or they are lying thru their teeth).

We completed our cold meal and thought nothing of it, the food is sub-par for the price point.

Early the next morning, the both of us simultaneously had the worst case of diarrhea! I mean

it was no ordinary "green apple splatters", it was explosive, and not forgiving at all.

Thursday, we are both sick, vomiting, and diarrhea, the whole 9. I tried over the counter remedies,

but to no avail. I tried to contact the manager/ owner, the woman passes the phone to the same guy whom I

spoke with before. He tries to tell me it wasnt from his location. (yet the whole time was spent telling

me that he's not the one in charge) I informed him, that it had to be food from his location, because

we rarely share meals, due to my schedule. (school and work) He then just hung the phone up on me!

Fast forward to today, Sat. April 23rd 2011. I'm feeling a lil better today, not wifey, she was diagnosed with

food poisoning (DUUUUUUUH). I tried to get in touch with the restaurant again, but Taqueria El Ranchito

does not care about sickening people with old, and under cooked food. I called the health dept. to investigate,

and I write this review to warn any and all that even thinks about going to 2829 n. Milwaukee!! Forget about it,

I wouldn't wish this feeling on anyone. THEY SUCK, THE FOOD IS RANCID AND HORRIBLE, AND THEY SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN!

yikes. I live right down the street from this joint. The only thing nice about it is the convenient location and the hours. Service is very slow, and when i eat there i feel as if the waitresses dont really listen to us very well. This afternoon i ordered a meat lovers skillet for pick up. When i came home to enjoy it, the bacon was disgusting and not fully cook, yet the sausage was burnt..and to make matters worse while i was chewing suddenly i realized there was somthing very hard and sharp in my mouth..i spit up a peice of sharp metal about the size of a staple, but even thicker. Im very disappointed and i do not plan on going back there anytime soon.

Cheap & Delish!. Love this place. The food is gourmet and cheap. It's really casual and byob. I highly recommend!

Totally Disappointing. Slow service (and only in Spanish), even though the restaurant was virtually empty and 2 waitresses were seemingly "assigned" to our table. Don't try ordering a beer based on their beer display because they only carry certain ones - the one I settled on was not even in their display. My son wouldn't eat his fries -- no wonder, they tasted like a burrito. They wouldn't accept a gift certificate that I obtained from a prominent local radio station. I couldn't determine why they wouldn't accept it (because of the language barrier) but my point of contention was that it had no expiration date on it. They only give you a fork: My son had to stir his coffee with a fork and I had to butter my bread with one.

Great Food,Low Price. Despite the poor reviews from 2008, went to El Ranchito and had a great meal with good service at bidget prices. Plus they are open very late and delover very late. 99cent margaritas (no limit) on Thursdays!

Possible new management?. My husband and I used to love this restaurant for its authentic food and long delivery hours. Recently they must have come under new management/ownership, because the food is now terrible, they charge extra for cheese and sour cream (even if you have a dish that's supposed to include these items), the service is bad, and they changed their hours, so you can no longer order so late. We were extremely disappointed in this change, and will no longer be ordering from El Ranchito.

Don't order from here. Don't order from here. We ordered online and after we waited an hour, we called. They claimed they didn't receive our order. After I complained, they suddenly had our order and claimed it was on its way. We waited 25 minutes (they told us it would be here in 5 to 10) and called back. We were first placed on hold and then told to wait another 5 to 10 minutes. The food never arrived.

Editorial Review. Logan Square restaurant cooks up Mexican favorites until the wee hours, with free delivery on orders over $10.
