“We love this place - the pizza is delicious, the antipasto plate simply brimming with tasty meats and cheeses, the lunch special an AWESOME value - and we always feel like real old-time Chicago mobsters are going to walk in at any moment!”
Awesome Old-Chicago Italian!. We love this place - the pizza is delicious, the antipasto plate simply brimming with tasty meats and cheeses, the lunch special an AWESOME value - and we always feel like real old-time Chicago mobsters are going to walk in at any moment! On weekdays, the lunch special costs 6 or 7 dollars and you get an all you can eat buffet with pizza, pasta, salad bar, and soup. Yum!
This place is STILL here???. Wow, I remember back in 96 when I was in 8th grade when my classmate's family opened this restaurant (at least I THINK it was 96 when they opened it). We used to go here after all of our mandatory 8th grade dances and just hang out eating calamari and pizza (ok, I remember the calamari was true, but not sure about the pizza part). Flash forward to present day and i'm driving down Irving Park Rd and low and behold it's still standing. Although it's strange, not only have I yet to actually set foot into the restaurant, I always pass it by and find the exterior to look like a ghost town. I mean, are they STILL in business or what because I can't tell front looking at the front side of the building. If they are, they need like a fresh coat of paint, some new windows or something to cry out, "Hey, we're still here, come on in!!!" One of these days I'll actually take the time to walk in and have myself a big plate of fried calamari like the old days. Who knows, maybe my old classmate Gaetano's now running the place (good for him if he is too =) ).
Classic old world neighborhood Italian Restaurant. Atmosphere, food & Value just as you'd expect.. Classic old world neighborhood Italian Restaurant. Atmosphere, food and value are just what you'd expect for a place like this. Couldn't ask for more. You must try the special 'Dinner for 2", includes: soup (had wonderful minetrone), large house italian salad, main course on 2 plates: Chicken Parmesian, Filet Mignon, and Veal Florentine (all amazingly in their own sauce) topped with lemons, plus choice of 2 sides (e.g.) pasta, veggie, potatoes; 1/2 Litre of House Wine (they even let us upgrade to a full Litre for only 4.50 extra), and desert of Italian Ice and coffee -- all for only $29.95 for 2. They even had real Extra Virgin Olive Oil on table w/ grated parmesian for the bread. Can't wait to go back.
