Service is the name of the game.... I just got off the phone with someone from the building materials department, Jason was his name. I feel the need to let off some steam after that encounter. I asked for a price check for the particle board they have in-stock. He put's me on hold for 10 minutes ( maybe more, I started to count after waiting 5) to find pricing for something that was no more than 30ft away.

He gets back on the phone and say's "now, what can i do for you?" - As if our last exchange never happened.

I ask again, "what's the price for your particle board?"

Then he started to huff and puff on the phone and complains that he's really busy.

Finally, when he gives me the pricing he mumbles the list of different sizes and prices for each too fast for me to note.

Jason,

Im sorry for expecting service from a retail store.

I definately won't bother you again.

Oh! Also, thank you for clueing me into any potential reasons as to why I won't shop there again in the future.

Have a good day, bye.

This home repair store boasts big savings.. The Scene
The store can get a bit cramped on the weekends, especially in the spring and summer. It's a large building divided by departments. The aisles are a bit too narrow for two carts to pass each other and you might feel like you're driving in the hectic Chicago traffic.

The Goods
It's pretty much what you'll find at any hardware store. It's not a gigantic warehouse, but most of the bases are covered. Tools, containers, rugs, lights, doors, shelves, nails, lawn furniture and decorations, seeds, outdoor plants (in the parking lot during spring and summer), resource books, videos and more.
